how much food?? I posted this question in "yorkie health & diet" but this area of the forum seems to get more action ;)........How much should my little girl be eating per day...she is 12 weeks and 1lb 5 oz...I think she eats well....I just want to make sure and hear it from the experts on here ;) ....She is eating Nutro Lamb and rice puppy..I leave food out for her all day....but if you had to put it into "cup" amounts of dry food...how much do you think a day? Thanks :D |
im not exactly sure if this will help but...my baby is a Morkie and i feed him Nutro puppy food and pedigree packages of wet food (i know it's "Garbage food" buthe wont eat with out it) then i boil some water pour a 1/4 cup in the food mixture and mix it all together, it makes a sort of stew mix. i then leave it out all day and 3 times during the day i put a LITTLE bit more boiled water and mix it in the food. in the beginning it starts off being 1/2 of the dish. but i dont know about ur pup...because my morkie is a bigger pup..he is 5 months and he is 7.5 lbs..his mom is 9 lbs and his dad is 11lbs! he will be big! |
This is what the vet told me, let me see if I can explain it to you... if you dont understand it tell me and I'll try again ok? With the tip of your index finger and the thumb make a circle and maesure the crown of your tinys head. That is the aproximate amount of food you should give her. Her stomach is very small and if you feed her more than you should she could go into vomiting. Maybee after you do this and try the amount you could measure it in a cup and see how much you should feed her as she is growing up. She should eat three times a day and keep dry food and fresh water ALWAYS available for her, you can also give her treats. The water should be everywhere... Also you should have some honey handy in case she doesnt eat well, give her about 1ml that will keep her sugar stable. Hope this helps!!! ;) |
