Rebel's 12 week vet visit Rebel got his 12 week shot today along with worming. He weighs 1 lb 8 oz, a gain of 5 oz since I got him at 6 weeks. I had a question and hope ya'll can help me out. He has hair that tickles his eyeballs (literally) The vet told me to trim it or take him to a groomer. There are 2 groomers here. One I don't trust because she let my sister's mother in law's puppy fall off the table and break both front legs! The second I love, but she doesn't start grooming until they've had all their shots and Rebel doesn't finish for 3 more weeks. So, what's the best way to trim this eye tickling hair without poking his eyes out!!!!?????:p |

Lillies only 22 wks old and her hair is in her eyes all the time too...I just keep washing her face and wipe the hair out of her eyes...She is going to have a long coat...so I guess what I am trying to say is...if you want your babies hair to grow long around her face then cutting it wouldn't be a good idea...you will always have to cut it so that when it starts to grow out it won't stick in her eyes...Lillies has grown alot since I got her at 8 weeks. |

A beard and mustache trimmer would work well in that area. He might be scared of the noise at first, but maybe if you just let him sniff at it while it's on (Not near the trimming end, of course:laugh:!), he could get used to it. Try to do this when he's very calm. Luna has those crazy hairs too. My groomer took her with just her first shots in her, as long as she'd had the bordatella vaccine. Good luck!:) |

Well, I'm no expert at this but had the same problem with hailee who is almost 8 months now. Someone told me to go buy baby nail trimmining scissors in the baby dept. like at Wal-mart. They are tiny scissors with rounded tips so you can't really hurt the pup. They have worked great for us. |

I never thought of that! Thanks for the info. I plan to keep Rebel's hair in "bangs" on top, but let the rest grow out. The hair around his eyes is really bothering him, so I'm definitely going to pick those scissors up today! |

I gently pull the outside of Gizmo's eye and it holds it closed so I don't poke him. He is use to it now and no sweat.;) |
