ok this may sound stupid but at what age can u stop giving ur furbaby nutrical or is it good to give everyday anyways????

I don't give it to them regularly, but I always keep some handy for times they get stressed. Like traveling. I took them camping in the cold for a few days and they stopped eating. I was glad I had some around to make sure they were getting some calories.

That said, I've never discussed it with my vet, so I maybe be speaking out of ignorance (What else is new? LOL)

I always keep some on hand too You never know when you might need it. One time Chachi had diahrea and the vet wanted to fast him and we gave him nutrical

You give your puppy Nutrical all the time? I thought it was only if you suspect they are going into hypoglycemia, not eating well, or recoverying from surgery/illness/injury? Mine eats fine so I have never given it. Do others give Nutrical routinely?

Abbie has a healthy appetite, too, so I've never given it. When she's been stressed, we give her a little honey.

I used it when I first got Venus, and she wasn't eating properly. The last time I had to give her any, was when she got shots, and wasn't eating well then.

I keep it here though, since I have the tube. If she won't eat after I get her spayed, I'll give it to her again.

Other than not eating right, or in case she gets sick, I don't give it to her. But I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

It is my understanding that it is best to keep it on hand for urgent situations like FLdebra said. Your small breed dawgs are more prone to hyoglycemia up to 12 weeks of age. However, if they are going to be tiny as adults as well, they continue to be prone to it because since there isn't much to them, it doesn't take long for them to become dehydrated or hypoglycemic if they are sick or just not eating.

I don't give it to them daily..only when I see theyre not eating or not feeling good.

ok cool...yea i havent been giving it to him...now that he is five months...but i do keep some around also if im getting ready to go out i give him some to keep him ok...but thanks for the help everyone!!!
