Who all?? Who all leaves clothes on their dogs all the time, day and night? I made those warm fleece coats for the guys and left them on them all day because they go in and out on their own. Then when I went to put them to bed I didn't want to take the coats off, I was afraid they would be chilly. I know that some of you even have PJ's for them, so do you keep them dressed day and night? |

BUT - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JAMMIES/Nighties - both my girls jump up to get into their new nighties from Tinkerbells closet - thank you Delaina again !! and I already ordered 2 more from Jodi - luvmysissy - so they don't wear out their pretty lavender ones - they ADORE Wearing them and stay nice and toasty all night - the good thing is they aren't running around in them - so no tangles ! and Jodi is making satin now and that's what I got for my girls - so now they have some cute stretchy 'hip doggie' nighties - and the satin also ....WE are ALL SET :D :D :D and they look SO freakin cute at bedtime you just want to smooch on them all night |
Yes, I have to admit Stedman wears clothes pretty much ALL the time. There ARE days when I take his shirts off of him (just to give him time to "breathe" ;)) and I WILL leave them off of him for a few days...but actually, he PREFERS to have them on. It's almost like I think HE thinks that he is naked without them, LOL. But I do take his shirt off EVERY SINGLE DAY so that I can brush him. Villette is right - it can really mess up their arms if you don't REALLY watch and brush them like crazy. His arms are the #1 part on his body that gets the most tangles, and it's because of his clothes. BUT - I do brush him daily so it never gets out of control ;) As for pajamas, well...he has those too LOL :p My hubby really doesn't like me leaving anything on him at night though while we are sleeping - ever since the incident where Stedman jumped off the bed and ended up getting his little paw stuck inside his pajamas - he couldn't get it out and the poor baby was stuck down there pretty much ALL night because mean 'ol mommy and daddy didn't hear him barking to get back up on the bed with us :( I'm sure his poor little arm was soo cramped up :( Boy was my hubby MAAAAAAAAD at me for THAT one!!! LOL  :p |
Since the weather has gotten a little cooler, Jaxon is wearing clothes 90% of the time. I always take them off in the morning and give him a good brush so he doesn't get matted too badly. I think he's the same as Steddy - feels naked without them. I feel bad when he's shivering! I have some fleece jammies that Jodi (Luvmysissy) made - they're a night shirt without back legs (I don't think he'd tolerate the kind with back legs). They are great and keep him cozy. |
lexi cannot stand anything on her body, she even freaks out if i dont take her harness off right away after a walk..... but with the weather getting colder, i will at least try and put a coat on her when we walk. |
Emma wears clothes 90% of the time that we're home with her. She wears sweaters or sweatshirts during the day or after work, and onesies or jammies for bed at night. I usually take off the clothes while she is in her pen while we're gone during the day. Sometimes my husband forgets to take off her onesie during the day, (but at least un-snaps it so she can potty). She's much warmer in clothes, and seems to like having them on. When I dress her in something more "fancy" (her leopard coat, her poncho w/fringe, or a little ski-type jacket, etc.) she knows we're GOING somewhere, and she gets really excited. |
Jewels wears dresses almost all the time. I am still ordering Chachi clothes but he does wear clothes periodically. I just ordered Jewels a nightgown from Jodie so she will be wearing that to bed. As soon as Des has her pajamas available in larger sizes i am ordering some for Chachi and Jewels |
Abbie only wears a harness vest when she goes out. But, I just got her a warmer coat harness and thinking of booties for the winter months. She'll prolly be au-naturale during the summer months except for the harness. |
I wonder if it makes a difference on the matting if the clothes have sleeves or not. Thes coats don't have sleeves, just two straps one around the front and the other under the chest. I guess I'll find out when I brush them. |
OK So mine had their fleece coats on for 24 hours, and I just took them off to brush them. Their hair was all static, but when I brushed them out, no tangles. So I'm going to make them more of the fleece coats and keep them dressed all wnter. I bought fabric in lots of colors and prints. see my other thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58707 |
Jewels wears dresses and she doesnt matt under the arms since they are sleeveless. She does matt on her back so I had someone on here make me a satin undershirt that I could put under her dresses |
I found out the hard way that a sweater on my Jilly for a day was a BIG mistake. Even a harness on for a day created problems. Her hair is quite long. So I have to decide clothes or long hair. Chattiesmom is making me a silk vest that I am going to try and put that under the sweater and see if that makes a difference. I keep Jack's cottony coat short so he can wear anything. They both got bathes last night and they are so soft and smell so sweet this morning. Love those Yorkie kisses!!! |
