Things NOT To Give Our Furbabies I find this post very helpful so I made it into a list. Can anyone add more to it? 1. Greenies 2. Rawhides 3. Tomatoes 4. Grapes 5. Onions 6. Garlic 7. Chocolate 8. Seeds from Apples oranges, etc. 9. Avacados 10. acetominiphin 11. Bleach Products 12. Raisins 13. Alcohol 14. Milk 15. Ham/salty meat products 16. Onions 17. Caffeine 18. Bones If bones, rawhides and greenies are bad, what is okay to give them to chew on? Great informative post. I had seen a similar post awhile ago but it always good to be reminded. |

Nylabone chew bones. They are not digestable and although the label states that small pieces the size of rice may come off, these small pieces can cause internal bleeding. I know, we've been through it. Also, I just read that tomato's are not safe due to something in the tomato. I can't remember what it was but NO to tomatoes also. Carol & Buddy:aimeeyork |
My vet said rule of thumb to go by in rawhides is no bigger around than your little finger for small dogs. That way if they get where they can break a chunk off it can pass through their system.. I let mine have them but I put them in holders and monitor them the whole time and throw away all small pieces. The chewing of them is good for cleaning their teeth. |
Bacon and anything with fat is not good for your babies. I guess they can't break down the fat in their systems... |
I had no idea rawhides were bad.. I give them to Diesel all the time!! |
This was just posted on AOL ... by ASPCA THANKSGIVING SAFETY TIP: BREAD DOUGH’S A NO-NO FOR PETS There’ll be many cooks in the kitchen next Thursday—but don’t spoil your pet by giving him bread dough. According to veterinarians at the ASPCA Animal Control Center (APCC), bread dough can be potentially dangerous for our four-legged friends. Find out how & why here. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...salert111706#1 |
tomatoes and oranges ARE both bad for dogs the acid in them are way to high for our little ones. Also Lemons are bad 1 reason being the acid and 2 lemons break down the enamel on your/their teeth. |
So Nyla/nylon bones are bad?? My babies eat these all the time. Figuring out what is good and bad sure is a headache:confused: |
