Awwww they are so cute, That is great that you have 2 boys, best buddies. Teddy is about 4lbs but his body frame is still sooo little, I'm always constantly worrying about what he is getting himself into.

That is so nice of you! People like that make me sick. If they didn't want to spend money on it they could have atleast try to find it a better home...what does it take?

To Diegos' mom: You are an angel for saving Sibelle's precious life. She is a beautiful dog who will reward you with more love than one can ever imagine. It saddens me that "other" people live their lives so out of touch with the truly wonderful things in life such as true selfless love and compassion for a victim of cruelty ... That they can be so cold and say such hurtful and negative things to you when all you have done is a good deed only reassures me that they have alot missing from theirs..

I have one that is a year old and weighs three pounds exactly. I have one that weighs just under four pounds. I have two that weigh five pounds and one that weighs almost six. To date, the only one that hasn't ever been to the vet is the three pound one. i got her at nine weeks and she has been healthy as a horse. I keep waiting for her to grow so I can breed her but she stopped growing about three or four months ago. hasn't yet had her first heat and I am thinking of spaying her or letting her go to a pet home on a spay contract.

My Cody is 3.5 pounds
 

My Cody is 3.5 pounds and is three years old and way healthier than my first little guy who was 6 pounds. I think it depends on the dog. I do feel more protective of this one though. He is just so little that when he goes out in the yard I am always watching for Hawks and in the house I worry about him falling off the couch, etc. and getting hurt.

Kasey weighs 3 pounds. He's never had any medical problems, then again, he's still under 1 year old. (Mom was 5 1/2 lbs, dad was 5 lbs) He can jump on the couch, but we leave the recliner ends out so he can just "run up" on them.

He keeps up with the others just fine, but we all honestly feel like we have to tiptoe and whisper around him. You'd think he had fragile stamped on his head.:(

Such a sweety and a marvelous boy though!

I don't think it was by accident that you happened to be at the vet the same time this lady was giving up on her little one. God watches over little children and puppy dogs -- especially Yorkies! :)

Today I am taking my tiny little YoYo to his new mom. Chris is flying in from Alabama to pick him and his sister Keelie up and then turning around and flying home again. It will be a long trip for all of them. YoYo and his sister are almost 18 weeks and YoYo's weight is 1 pound 7 ounces. I have worked hard from the day he was born to keep him going and now he seems very strong. I will miss him so much , but I find comfort in the fact that Chris is already in love with him and I know she will keep him safe and happy.

My Peppy is 3.25 lbs. He turned two in September. He is an incredible little dude -- friendly and outgoing. I couldn't ask for a healthier dog.

Back to the jumping on the couch thing. Titan jumps on the couch, on the chairs and onto the table. I just hate when my kids leave a chair in the kitchen bc I get Titan on the counter. And he jumps off of it all and never any problems. And he has supper fine bones. Here is him and Roxi just waiting for me to look the other way so they can get on the table. Naughty little things.

He looks beautiful! I'm sure Chris will be thrilled. I will have to make her pass on her new found knowledge to me when she gets back.;)

HI, I have two yorkie girls. Princess Pia is 1 yr. 7 months old and weighs 2 lbs. My other yorkie girl Trixie Bear weighs almost 5 lbs. Pia had a very difficult time when being spayed and we almost lost her. However, let me make this very clear. This was 100% the vet's fault!!! Pia became sick the day after surgery and I called immediately to take her in and was told to wait until the next day. Well, I gave it a few hours and took her in regardless. They gave her a shot and sent her home. BIG MISTAKE!! By that evening Pia had gone into shock. I rushed her into an ER and the vets there were wonderful. They honestly didn't think Pia was going to make it. Well, she's tiny but a BIG fighter! The ER vets were sickened by the fact that my vet let her go home the same day of surgery and to top it off they should have put her on IV's immediately. She became dehydrated very quickly. The ER vets claimed that she more then likely would have been just fine if put on IV's right away when I took her back in. However, my vet neglected her and we almost lost her. I told you my story only because I wanted to show you how these tiny ones can fight to live!! If you happen to end up with a smaller yorkie make sure you get a good vet!! The ER vet's told me that a 2 lb or 7 lb dog can dehydrate at the same rate of time. I believe any dog under 10 lbs needs to be watched a little more carefully. Other then that experience both my babies have been completely healthy!! Vet bills cost me no more for either girls when compared to my pekingese. I love my little Pia and thought she would be like Trixie's size but it didn't happen. However, I wouldn't change her for anything. Both baby girls are so full of life. Trixie sleeps with me but Pia does sleep in her own bed. I have a very high bed and even with puppy steps she can't make it up, LOL. Honestly I dont see much difference between my 2 or 5 lb baby. I know many think these tiny ones are a big mistake. I have heard the horror stories myself. I've been lucky so far and believe any dog can run into health problems. I thinks its just a risk you take when buying anything. However, I don't believe in breeding these tiny ones and I would prefer to see more standard babies running around. I say this because I think too many people only want them because their small. Anyways, if you have any questions just ask!!:)

YoYo is gorgeous .

My hubby told the vet he was considering breeding my Sonia. The vet told him he'd half to pay over a grand to have her a cesarean since she would be small. She is 3lbs at 4 months and i think she is still growing. Im scared that she might grow some problems if we dont get her fixed. I know that there is no such thing as tea cups but my vet printed her info out and described her being a teacup. Is this totally off the subject?

Lillie is 2.5 pounds at 8 months old and I have not had any health problems, thank god! (knock on wood) but I will tell you, I'm always having to watch out for her, she gets under feet very easily and has fallen down the stairs twice and thank god she was fine both times!

You need to talk to my friend penny,(rosebud) who owns a tiny, and yes, she has had alot of health problems and has spent a lot on vet bills.

No I'm not in a program but I am planning on it after I transfer schools, I really wanna go to Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, is that how u spell it?, Salvador and Sao Paulo, Oh please what am I saying I wanna go all over! LOL But it is a BIG place so I dunno how I will. And I will start taking Portuguese classes nxt semester...can't wait!

Little Bit is almost 3# and healthy as a horse so far. She is 7 months old and just exactly what I want. I am retired and its just my husband and I here and she does great. I almost feel guilty that she doesn't get enough playtime. I have had larger Yorkies and loved them too but there is just something so special about this tiny little thing. I almost get offended when I see so many posts that act like they are freaks. I wouldn't breed her but I wouldn't trade her for the world either.

I like the bigger Yorkies as well and the one that my dd, sil & grandchildren have fits their life perfectly but I hate it when people seem to insinuate that there is something wrong with Little Bit when she is within standard & doing great.

I am very careful with her but I think that is probably more related to my age and stage of life than her size.

I have had Diezel almost a year and a half. I have him trained to use the Puppy steps but about a month ago I sat on the couch without the steps down and to my surprise he jumped on the couch. I tried to avoid letting him do it again but now he either jumps or uses the steps.. I dont like that he jumps off but I just got a rug and its very very soft and cushiony (is that a word) to make for better landing!

My Zoe is 1 year and 3 months old and she weighed 2.8 lbs last Friday when she was spayed. She is very healthy. She is doing great following her surgery. We have a very good vet. They did blood work days prior to her spaying & had her on an IV. They did say her temperature dropped a little during surgery so they had her on a heating pad for a while in recovery. She has a very tiny, neat incision and the next day was acting like nothing happened. I was worried sick and put off the procedure letting her go through one heat before getting up the courage to have her given general anesthesia. She was spayed, teeth cleaned, and microchipped.

We have had no problems with her at all. She can't jump on the couch, and never will, it's just too high. She did surprize is and learn to climb the stairs and ours are hardwood, not carpeted. This really freaked me out at first, and I put baby gates at the bottoms, but she has lost her facination with the stairs so I took the gates down.

I bought her hoping for a 4 lb adult weight, but wouldn't change a thing. We love her just the way she is. Her size is one of the things that makes her so unique. I'm a small person, and she fits on my lap just right. All our furbabies are wonderful, but there is just something about a tiny.
