I just got done watching the Oprah show. I was in amazement! I honestly cannot see how anybody could live in such a filthy house? I am a neat freak. I mean, I will let me dishes go for a couple of days, or not vacuum for awhile, but I could NEVER let me house get that bad. There is NO way. My grandmother is a hoarder like that. Her house isn't dirty, but she keeps EVERYTHING! It's horrible. As far as the lady with the 81 cats and 6 dogs... Honestly... if my husband would LET me have that many animals, I probably would. LOL. But I would only have that many animals if I KNEW I could take care of them... and keep them in a safe, clean enviroment. I always said, if I ever win a bunch of money I am going to donate a lot of it to animal shelters and stuff like that. I have always had a soft spot for animals in need. It breaks my heart to see a homeless cat or dog... and I would have a hard time not taking them home with me. But, when you watch these shows with these people that have TONS of animals, and their in horrible living conditions, it really, really makes me MAD! I mean, I can understand wanting to help animals, and giving them homes, but nobody should do that if they cannot properly take care of them. I don't know. Just thought I'd put my opinion on it out there. |
I totally agree. When I was a kid we had 5 dogs. But we lived in a huge house in the country and with 3 boys and a girl my dad really didn't see anything wrong with having 5 dogs. They were all throw away dogs as my dad called them. Dogs that people didn't want and dumped in the area that we lived. They were all well taken care of and all were loved. Each one of us in the household had thier own dog. It was kinda cool. Right now I only have one dog. Memphis my little Carin terrier chinese crested mix. But hopefully soon I will have a little female yorkie also. Kelly |
Just one little Yorkie but I hope to add another in about 6 months. |
I have a yorkie named Lacy and a yorkie-chi named Cruz, 7 fish and a turtle. |
I have one mini Schnauzer and one Yorkie. But sometimes I feel like I have 5 Yorkies cause Bo is so demanding!!!! He is a little bossy-butt!! lol! |
1 Yorkie, 2 guppies, 1 hamster Okay - so my daughter thinks they all belong to her but my husband will tell anyone that I'm the softie for animals in the house. I once had a cat named Bi-Lo because the cat wandered the Bi-Lo(grocery store) parking lot and back entrance looking for food. After a week of noticing her there when I did my shopping, I talked to the store manager, found out that she had been there for a while, and then took her home. |
One yorkie called lucy :) 2 budgies Daisy and Zippy, 2 guinea pigs Bess and Fluffy and a tortoise called Fred :p |
I have 3 yorkies, 2 outside cats, and a afrian grey parrot that doesn't shut up, a husband that just retired still getting use to him home all day with me LOL, and a 14 year old son. and I love them all! :) |

Budgerigars, they are pet birds native to Australia, and they are sooo noisy lol! |
OK...this is fun...gonna have to watch Oprah this afternoon...it comes on at 3 around here. I have Oscar in the house...well, in the camper. My son and his wife took over my house...LOL. We have two outside cats, Grace and Rocky - they are mother and son. They love each other most of the time, but sometimes fight like cats and...well they just fight like cats I guess! They are spayed and neutered. I think Rocky just has a wire crossed somewhere! We also have two little nanny goats named Lucy and Ethel. They are something else. One of them was bottle fed so she is really sweet but the other one is still really skittish. They graze for the most part, but love a handful of sweet feed or some fresh mint pulled from the herb garden. We bought them to keep the dog kennels munched down. We used to raise American Bulldogs and have some really nice kennels that were growing up...it is a good place for goats. I watched Animal Precinct one time on Animal Planet and they had a show on a bunch of sick hungry cats in a vacant house. The lady that live there had died and they had removed her body but not the cats...thing is, there were dead cats in the bed with her that had been dead a WHOLE lot longer than she had. How can somebody do that? They trapped all of the live cats, but had to destroy them. They could not be rehabilitated and adopted. They were all too wild and mean. I can't stand to see animals in dirty conditions or see them without proper food and clean water. I can't stand to see someone with so many animals there is no way they can interact with them properly. I think as much as they need food and water, they need love...they thrive on it...it is just so sad! Debbie G. - Oscar's Mom "Greet everyone as you would your dog" |
I have 3 cats and Maximus. My cats names are Fiona(Calico), Link (grey tiger) and Pyewacket(Black shorthair). My foster sister also has a cat living with us until June named Pockey. |
Right now I only have Stewie, but at one time we had: 7 hamsters (it was disgusting and smelly, we bought a pregnant mom and she ended up eating her babies). The mom's name was Louie because we thought she was a boy. We gave her to my friend who wanted one. 1 female black Labrador - Midnite who was the love of my life. 7 Betta Fish - Jackson, Jameson, Christian, God... I can't remember... I had them lined up on my dresser -- all in separate bowls obviously. I used to rescue sick ones from PetCo and PetSmart and try to nurse them back to health. 2 Finches - April & May; My dad was cleaning the cage and the Lab ate the birds. It was disgusting. She was very pleased with herself. I was so mad. A fish tank w/ about 15 various fish in there A Hermit Crab named Aaron after my favorite baseball player. It was a zoo. |
2 Yorkies 1 hamster 1 turtle 1 betta fish :) |
