Norwalk California pet store raided Just thought i would share this information not really yorkies but sad http://www.whittierdailynews.com/cda...850062,00.html |
Interesting. It's hard to tell from the article whether she is intentionally a bad broker, or, if she really is the victim of a puppymiller! If that is the case you could argue that she should have investigated who she ws buying from. This is sad, for everyone. I wonder if it is considered "practicing veterinary medicine" without a license to dock puppy tails in California? Do any of the breeder on here know? What about giing vaccines. My poodle's vet gavehim his puppy shots. Hmmmmm, lots of questions! |
if you do google search for annas grooming there is a message board that has lots of info about her and some of the people that bought sick pups and some that got healthy ones i found this to be very interesting and sad another message board that i go to has a lady who purchased one of these pups and after tons of vet bills the poor baby died it had parvo |
Its weird that you put this here my neighbor and i were talking about this place a few months ago. We live in Whittier, about 15 minutes from Norwalk. Before i got Toto fixed i wanted to make him a stud, and she told me " I betcha if you go to Anna's Grooming she'll use Toto." but i had looked at the site and i was i don't think so. So i never did, thats good he could have gotten sick from mating w/one of her dogs. Looks like to me she is using her money for plastic surgery. |
This is more than sad. They are violating her civil rights. She is a retailer. If the puppies leave her store healthy at the time of purchase her responsibilities end there. The people who pay the low money and buy the mixed breeds, are at fault. To buy a jalopy and then complain- !!!!!! This only teaches me that my contracts will be explicit from now on. The buyer needs to go to a vet and get checked within the first 24 hours, otherwise there is no proof that they themselves did not cause the problem. Further, I am dismayed that they are punishing her for cropping tails- it is a worldwide practice on many, many breeds, and animal species. I thank you for this link- I sent it onto the American Civil Liberties Union- Officials with other agendas can not be allowed to do bad things to people. "Let the buyer beware"- Buyers have a responsibility- they can not cry foul when they buy the cheapest thing and then it breaks. How many of us have bought a car or something else from a major manufacturer, with a warrenty, and something bad happens? Does your local police department go do something to them? I think not. Okay, I've vented, but this kind of narrow minded law and violation of civil rights pisses me off. Deborah |
Wow, narrow escape That is really weird, when I first got the boys, this was a place that I called about grooming them. The woman that I talked to said she was the owner, Anna and that while she had some experience with terriers, that she was mostly used to poodles. Since I was looking for someone with experience in yorkies, I kept looking. |
moonvalley i dont want to start a fight or be rude but how can you say they are violating HER RIGHTS she is a puppymill she has sold thousands of sick pups to people. like i said before if you do a google search for annas grooming you will read how many broken hearted people and how many DEAD pups that are linked to her http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...ooming&spell=1 I dont personally know a person that bought a dog from her but on a forum like this we met and there were several other people also. Yes people should go to the vet within 24 hours what happens when you do and your pup has parvo or some other bad thing??? who is to blame then?????? sorry i just get upset everyone wants to stop bad breeders and puppymills but when things like this happen someone defends her sorry but i hope she goes to jail for the rest of her life |
Like rene I don't want to start anything either but how can you compare a living animal to a car? I'm sorry but if my car dies on me it doesn't break my heart. |
Hi guys, I think its horrble what this women did but.... if she is selling sick puppies I dont see how her civil rights are being violated. Yes unfortunatetky people still do buy from petshops and dont do research when buying a dog but thats not entirely their fault either. The very first time I purchased a dog was from a pet store, I didnt know any better. I saw the puppies in the window and fell in love with one of the puppies. Hell i still see puppies in pet shops and want them all but i now know better. So no i dont believe people get what they deserve for buying from a pet shop, i feel bad and hope they ended up with a healthy pup. Also as for going to the vet within 24 hours, I have gone straight from the breeder to my vet before bringing home both of my dogs. What happens when say someone picks up a puppy on the weekend ? If you are going to have this in your contracts i hope you advise your buyers to schedule picking up a puppy during the week when it is easier to get in to see a vet. That is what i did. I purchased my pup on a sunday but did not bring her home till tues when i was able to get an appt. If we want people to stop buying from pet stores then somehow thru the media they have to be told why they shouldnt buy from there. I think peta should do commercials on the dangers of buying from petshops as well as animal planet and the news and radio etc... i think you get my point. :D |

Does anyone really think she's getting her puppies from the little house down the street where the puppies are all well fed and cared for ?? ....NO !! - Pet STORES HAVE to buy from puppy mills - Big Mass breeding Mills or a small mill - A MILL IS A MILL ! .....that's how they make their money - they really don't care what happens to these puppies once that money is IN their hands. I'm sorry but when I see the constant DEFENDING of pet stores on this site by members ....I see red ! Pet stores see GREEN. |
Sounds like she may be a little shady. Hopefully they won't have to raid her the 3rd time. |
