Dirty fur at rear end! My little girl is only 5 months old and her fur is not very long, but i noticed her struggling to "do her deposits". On closer inspection i found that a large amount of mess had dried in her fur. I washed her and cut away the fur as best i could, i think i got most of it off and that she is now reasonably clean. Obviously i am planning to keep a regular check on this and to trim the fur in that area regularly. Just wondering if anyone else has any other tips that might help me keep on top of this? Thanks in advance... |
That is a very common problem with long haired dogs. Just do what you said and keep it trimmed. If you take her to a groomer they will do it for you, but it is not hard to do yourself. Much easier to keep it timmed then to pick the poop out of it. :D :D LOL |
Uggg I know exactly what you are talking about. I try to keep mine as trimmed as I can but some times it still happens. Its really gross....The other night I was up at 11 pm cleaning Louie's little butt. |
I check both of mine weekly. I bought clippers and when necessary I "buzz" their butts. Lucy is used to it, but the first time I did Rebel's (10 weeks old) he screamed bloody murder! It just goes along with owning a long haired baby. |
Cali stated having problems twice in a week. What a mess!!! So I had the groomer cut the hair back three today, but I don't like the look! |

I use scissors on their little butts...I used clippers once and I think it cuts to close...Sadie was doing the bum dance for a couple of days...matter of fact they do the bum dance when I cut the butt too! |
I use a cordless moustache trimmer and keep it nice and neat. I check each time I brush her (daily). |
yup i had the same problem with my dixie when she was little too and i learned the hard way to keep it trimmed back there too i also use clippers and a mustache trimmer lol... her was so stuck i cleaned and cleaned and pulled and she would cry and then i would cry lol finally i took her to vet and he got it off for me lol sad huh but she was going to the vet in next day or so for her shots anyway so he did it for me lol gl |
