First of all WELCOME to you and to Melot!!! You sure came to the best Yorkie site!

Let's see if I'm any help at all with your questions. See the Blue answers. You might want to do a search for the topics since they have been discussed many times and with lots of responses.

1. Pet Insurance? I saw the Poll, just really need to know is it worth it? This is the first I have heard of it, as my parents never had it. Please help

Absolutely! For about $25.00 a month Veterinary Pet Insurance covers just about everything. Basically you pay the vet bill and file a claim. A few weeks later you get a check for about 40% to 70% (depends on what was done). It's a huge comfort to know you have help if there is a big unexpected expense for injuries or illnesses. Just like your car, home, medical, and life insurance for yourself, this is a just in case investment. My little Jewel was very sick for a year the bills were in the thousands. The MRI & spinal tap alone was almost $2,000 plus Emergency care and more. We got about an average of 70% back.

2. How do you get your avitars to move and change pics? I love having the name flash in between pics.

Do you have Adobe Photoshop? If not there are several people here on YT that will make one for you.

3. I am trying the Ear Tape trick (on 2-3day then change tape), does anyone know how many tries before deemed unsuccessful?

I didn't have to tape the ears, just trimming the hair off did the trick for both Jazzie & Jewel (thank goodness!).

4. Food-My vet says any premium food is fine, but I have heard Innovo was rated best food analysis link, any ideas? (currently on puppy Eukanuba and Royal canin)

I have Jazzie on Natural Balance Potato & Duck. Flint River Ranch is another great product but it's strictly mail order. They are both made of human grade ingrediants and does not include any corn or wheat which many of our babies are allergic to.

I checked into pet insurance also....I have 2 furbabies...it was going to cost me around $175.00 per month which I thought was outrageous! After reading the posts on pet insurance I decided it wasn't worth it

I never had to do this...the girls ears were up when I got them...are you shaving the ears? If not, try keeping the hair on the back and front of the ears shaved...this will usually help them to stand.

Eukanuba is not a very good food...there are ALOT of good foods out there...try to stick with foods made with human grade food. There is a post on here (somewhere) that lists all the "BAD" ingredients to watch out for in their food...Thank You All!!

The tape and shaving the ears should work, I'm assuming it's a puppy. Over 6 months, if they're down they tend to stay that way.

I got help on the avitar, I couldn't do it.
This is the best site I have ever found on furbabies. I have learned so much from all the loving mommy's & daddy's. I don't have a full Yorkie, but Piper my morkie is so much more like a yorkie than a maltese. This site has helped me a hundred times on questions.

1) YES YES AND YES...You should get insurance...These lil furbaby's are just like children
2) PM red98vett and she will do everything for you...As far as setting up your avatar
3) I never did anything except trim the ears and they stood up all on thier own...1 before the other but it was cute while it lasted
4) I have mine on Nutro- Puppy- Lamb and rice formula
