Guess what  Well, I have decided (I hope) to move towards a path that I have been on for 20 years. I am going to get certified as a Master Herbalist, with an emphasis in animals- I have already been doing it for 20 years! What clenched it is that several of you have asked me for my input lately- and now some of my associates are coming to me for advice. And the final- Well, Feliz got sick - sigh- and I was able to accurately diagnose what she had. She had Camby, probably got it from chicken the breeder fed to her when she got her 2nd shots. So, I am treating her myself and she is already so much better. I got Erythomician and have been giving her 10mg 3 x/day, immodium AD 1/2 small tablet 2 times first day, unflavored pedialyte for drinking, and herbs for digestion. So, what do you guys think- a Master Herbalist for animals? I always wanted to be a vet, but had children while I was getting my degree in Biology. And really- I don't want to fix animals once they are broke- I want to keep them from getting broke.... Please tell me your thoughts! (PS, Feliz's coat is going pure silver other than the copper points of course...) deborah |
That is so cool! I would love to become an erbalist too but have no idea where to go or how to go about it. That is so wonderful that you are doing this, I think sometikmes the erbal way is best. When my Shelbie was alive, I researched alot on the computer to try and help her and it really works. Good Luck, I'm very proud of you!!!! :) |
wow that sounds great...Can I get your card for future reference? What herb will make my yorkie girls hair grow? She is missing hair on her nose. |
Horsetail Extract, Saw Palmetto Extract, Rosemary Extract, Chamomile Extract I would make a cream, and rub it on, you can use a calendula cream to mix it in. These things probably will stimulate hair growth. But it will not fix the underlying problem. I suggest you supplement with missing link, and add into the diet a little flax oil. Feed lots of wholesome protein to support the new hair growth. (Try Merricks Buffalo & Beef). =-) These are only my suggestions of course- I will email you my card. =-) |

Deborah!! I knew I liked you after your first few posts. We think a lot alike. My oldest daughter is attending school in Santa Barbara and she has a 7 month old tiny male yorkie named Buddha. I will definitely share your contact info with her. In fact, she is going to be having him neutered soon. Do you have any suggestions for her on this proceudre. He is a little over 2 lbs and will be having some baby teeth pulled too. I would love to get your opinion on vaccines for dogs, possible alternatives to vaccines, etc. Thanks, Kim |
Thant is cool, I would love to learn more to. It has also been a while since I have seen anything with Ojai in it. Do you live around there. My family lived there for years, I loved it, but so much of a toursit trap that sometimes we locals suffered. But I love the atmosphere, someday I am sure I will move back. |
