Help! Finn just ate my great danes heart worm pill! Keep calling vet and its busy! What should I do? Can he die from this?? OMG, I am freaking out!!! He is just about 5 months and 2 1/2 pounds. |
take to the vet now don't wait if i'm correct the heartworm meds have some kind of poisons in them that get intpo the blood stream and one big enough for a great dane is definatley not good for a little bitty dog!! put meds up high away from your pets just like you would from babys!! |
The dogs pills are actually higher than I can even reach, (I need to stand on a stool to get them). Finn ran up as quick as he could, took the pill right out of Sophie's mouth and ran away. By the time I caught him, he had already eaten it. But the update is that I just got off the phone with the animal hospital and they said that the only thing it will do to Finn is give him diarreah and vomitting and she said not to worry. So I Feel a little better about it. I am going to keep a very close eye on him anyway though. |
omg that's one crazy or super brave little dog i personally wouldn't try to take any kind of food outta great dane's mouth!!! i hope he will be ok!!! |
OMG ! It WAS scary. I'd freak out, too. |
Here's three poison #'s call one!!!!!!!!!! K-State's College of Veterinary Medicine has a free, 24-hour animal poison control hotline at 785-532-5679 800-222-1222 http://www.mitoxic.org/pcc/petsplants/ |
There was a post several months back about a tiny one who got two heartworm meds by mistake. The vet's office told them also not to worry. I hope your little one is okay. |
my pregnant bitch got TWO yesterday instead of one because I dropped an extra one on the floor. i called my vet immediately and he said not to worry because they would have to get fifteen times the amount of one for it to hurt them (Interceptor is what I use). |
Your Pup Will Be Okay!!! = ) |
