OH DEAR! I think its a mill! Its like.. these people know they are a puppy mill, they just DONT CARE! Slide your cursor over the numbers and it shows pics of OUTDOOR houses with wire cages that they keep there dogs/puppies! I try to be positive like.. maybe its airconditioned but.. theres just something very sad about it! http://stillkennel.com/slides_puppies_for_sale.asp# |
actually, it doesn't look too bad. It looks like the dogs are allowed outside of their cages, at least. The nightmare puppy mills never let the dogs out of their tiny cages. I am not endorsing this facility--I really don't know much about it except what they say on the website. But believe me, it could be a lot worse. |
ya, it reallly doesnt look that bad like health wise, but they definetly cant socialize all those babies/adults. and it must be very hot out there |
It looks like a USDA breeder. They have to keep their dogs outside. |
kennel Looks like a fine way to raise chickens and small livestock, but not companion animals. |

http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/publica...rt_holders.txt Look up David and Gloria Still They are listed as a USDA breeder. Honeslty I wouldn't buy from anyone who was a USDA breeder. They can't live in the house and usually means they have way to many dogs to begin with. JMO |
They have a lot of different breeds. Isn't that supposed to be a red flag too? |

they have many dogs & many breeds it's a buisness to them they seem to do it to make money their prices aren't outrageous but with that many dogs i seriously doubt they have the time to socialize or spend time with them all poor dogs. |

looks like a kennel where you board dogs, not where they should live all the time. i know personally i wouldn't want to be in a place like that ,live outside in a shed with a "RUN" . it also bring to mind a shelter or a pound to me. |
You really don't understand? I'm sure I should let this pass but if you don't really understand the difference in housing our Yorkies and chickens, it needs to be addressed. Don't want to get bashed by any chicken luvvers out there:) but I really don't know that chickens are used as often as house pets or need or want the same degree of socialization as puppies. Little Bit doesn't sleep with me unless we both happen to fall asleep in the recliner but there are probably a lot more people who sleep with their Yorkies than their chickens. We take Little Bit on our family vacations and the hotels that were dog friendly didn't mention chickens. But then again, I didn't ask.:) I'm definitely not defending the caging of any animals or chickens but this question just baffles me. Quote:

2nd, Baby's is not on there ,and she's from a petstore (lambriar kennels). I heard they were bad. :( 3rd, there are none in Jersey? Maybe I should do a happy dance? :happyboun |
Don't you all get a lot of snow in MO? I don't know about the heat there, but I'm sure its not like it is here in Mobile, AL. I'm sure they "cleaned the place up a bit" before putting these pics on their websites. I saw cages that looked 6 foot up in the air attached to the buildings....hummm... how does the dog get outside from there? Dunno, but I certainly wouldn't buy from this person. Lotta breeds too, which mean accidents can happen breeding. I've seen worse links here, but then again, I've seen better. I've also seen worse on TV. My biggest concern would have to be, place is that far north in the winter time. How can a dog keep warm in a cage 6+ feet off the ground? Maybe I've always had inside dogs, and just don't know much about breeding places. |
Just for future references here is the link I used.. http://www.petstorecruelty.org/how%2...20breeders.htm There are 2 links that you can use to search for a breeder. |
I also wanted to add that a certain "breeder's" name isn't on the list! That is unless he is listed under a different name! There is also an email addy given to write and complain. HINT HINT!!!:D |
Im certainly not impressed. In fact picture 5 bothers the hell out of me. Looks just like rabbit cages to me, and its so small and multiple dogs in them to boot. GOd I certainly wouldnt be proud of that. Now some of the buildings look pretty nice and the dogs have a pretty large area and they may keep it clean, but there are SO MANY buildings, so many dogs. So you know there are tons of puppies............truly how could you socialize so many? You would have to have a ton of help and maybe they do. I sure hope they have air and heat, its hard to tell by the pictures. |
I like the picture of the "dog shelter." (that was sarcasm). This is definately a puppy mill. Not the worst I've seen, but yes, it is a puppy mill. I don't even see any question about it. Maybe it depends on what your definition of a puppy mill is. My definition is a business that mass produces puppies of many breeds, houses them outside in cages, and does this for profit. Furthermore, they have little to no interaction at all with thier dogs, and therefore, have no idea of the temperaments or health of the puppies they are selling. A reputable breeder breeds one breed of dog, because they love the breed. Not for profit. Actually, they often lose money, because they spend so much on showing the parents to guarantee that is breeding material. I would definately not buy from this puppy mill. There is absolutely no guarantee that your dog would be healthy, or non aggressive, or have behavioural issues, since it is basically housed in a chicken coop. It is funny though, that they show the pictures as if there is nothing wrong with it. At least they are honest that they are scum. Most millers lie through their teeth about the horrid conditions their dogs have to suffer through. At least people will know not to give these people thier business. |
