Hi Everyone I'm Peg from Ohio. I guess you could say I've caught the Yorkie bug! I don't currently own one, but I'm looking. How did this happen, you might ask? My nine old son and I have been talking about getting another dog for some time now. A friend was showing us her daughter's dog's puppies (not yorkies) my son fell in love and wanted one. I went home and asked hubby, "how would you feel about getting another dog"? Of course I had her email me pictures of these adorable puppies! His reply to my surprise was "I've actually been thinking about it". So, I show him the picture's of these cute puppies. His comment was, "I was thinking it would be a Yorkie". Can you believe it! I'm so excited! :yay_jump: Anyway, I have enjoyed all the information I've read here, you've all been so helpful. I haven't decided on exactly what I'm looking for yet. There's so much to learn! Well, I hope you will help me on my search, it should be fun.

Welcome..you will learn tons here!! I am excited for you that you are getting a yorkie puppy, there is absolutely nothing better....except maybe 2 yorkie puppies!!!:)

Oh I remeber when we got the bug! How exciting for you! I keep saying I want one more but I think I will lose that battle lol!

Good luck on your hunt and be sure to post some pictures for us when you do get your new fur baby!!

Welcome and congratulations [in advance]!! :p My hubby was first to be interested in the Yorkie breed .... we had never even seen one. I resisted for months and all the while he was on a nationwide search! :rolleyes: It was well worth the wait and three years ago we totally lost our hearts to Toto! She was the first Yorkie for us to ever see and I would have died if I couldn't bring her home that day! Fortunately, Patrick had already pretty much handled everything in advance and we could have "pick of the litter" .... we never even looked at the other two .... Toto is the first one she brought out and she was so perfect we didn't even want to see the others. Trust me, you won't be sorry .... just be careful and hopefully get the perfect Yorkie baby! Keep us posted. ;)

I don't have my furbaby yet either, but I LOVE coming to this site every day - it's a great community full of lots of great people and you will learn SO MUCH you never knew (or were afraid to ask)!

Hello and welcome! I am sooo happy your hubby said he was thinking about a yorkie! What a good guy! YAY!! LOL!!! Well good Luck! There are tons of wonderful breeders on here who would love to help you on your quest for the perfect Yorkie!

Oh and where in Ohio are you from! I am from the Northeastern part of Ohio! So Hello and welcome to my "neighbor!" LOL!

Well, I also have to say welcome and heard what everyone said about us friendly people on Yorkie Talk but no one mentioned the support given to each other here. :) That is extremely important and helped me out emotionally in an emergency with my Sissy. As far as catching the yorkie bug, watch out, I caught it in October of last year, then again this past July - it is extremely contagious:eek:

I am excited for you! We have had different breeds of dogs and I love them all, but there is nothing like a Yorkie!! They have got to be the most loving pets on earth. Good luck in your quest -- hope you find the perfect addition for your family.

Thank You so Much for Your Warm Welcome. I live in Central Ohio, about 25 mins outside of Columbus. I must say, I'm really suprised at how many of you are from Ohio. Thanks to all for the link, that's a great thing to do for a Newbie like me :)

OK so if you are only in Ohio, you should come to the Yorkie Christmas party, hosted at my house, you can meet 40 other Yorkies, see them in action:D , check out their colors, you will see how well the group plays together, we will have door prizes, potluck, gift exchange (ornament for Humans & doggie gift for the babies), We will have a photographer (Jodie's nephew) and a Doggie Christmas Parade (small walk) down Monroe for all to envy!:p
You'll have fun even tho you didn't pick your Yorkie yet, hope you'll come:)

That sounds like such fun! You'll have to keep me updated on the party plans. No promises, Christmas is such a busy time. If I can't make it, I would sure love to see pictures and hear all about it. Thanks for the invite!
