Riley got spaded today So today was the day. I told Riley in the 1st thing this morning. I really worried because she's so small, just 3lb 5 oz at 7 1/2 months. But she did great. They even had to extract 14 baby teeth!! Poor baby is laying on my lap, sleeping on & off. Now for my question...How long is a normal recovery time? |

Lucy didn't need any teeth pulled and she was a little "down" for about 3 days afterwards. Within a week she was back to her old self. Good luck |
Thats alot of teeth! Poor baby! I hope your baby gets to feeling better soon! :getwellso |
The recovery time as far as how long the vets want them to take it easy is 2 weeks |

Shylah got spade on Thursday Shylah got spade on Thursday and was out of it a little today. She started to perk up after dinner tonight. She had 4 teeth pulled. She has been eating really well but kind of slow on the bowel movements. She finally had a little one tonight. I think the pain meds constipate her. I hoping to ween her off of them tomorrow. She will be 7 months on the 5th and weighs 3.6lbs. Her teeth must not hurt because she chewed on a flossy tonight. We don't have to go back to the vet at all. She has sutures that will dissolve. The vet told me to have her take it easy for 10 days and not baths until then. Boy she could use one. But I'll have to wait I guess. |
Thanks for the info. Yes, I knew Riley had "Shark Teeth" so I was ready for a major number. But 14!!!! Before the vet did anything they called to get my permission & warn me about the added cost. What could I say? With Riley sedated, this was the best time to do this. I couldn't get her to open her mouth to give her her pain pill last night. So I put some Nutri Stat on my finger & hid the pill in it. She licked it all up. She had a quiet night, so we'll see how today goes. I was told to wet down her food for a couple of days. I was also surprised at the tiny incision (it's not even as big as a dime). My friends' yorkie had a 3 inch cut! |
