Do you walk your Yorkie when it is raining? I took Gracie for a walk today. I put her yellow hoody rain slicker on. I had my big ubrella and off we went. We usually go 1 1/2 miles or so. Today after 3/4 mile she was soaking wet, shivering, and begging to go back to the car. Usually she fights me to go back to the car when we are at the park. I was just curious how many of you walk your baby when it is raining? Should I push it with her or just skip the walks until dryer days come? Here in Seattle, that might not be until May! |
Some might say Im a bad mom but I cant take Pete out on rainy days. Even if we go out on our deck where its covered hes instantly cold. I do try to make up for it with some extra indoor fetch and wresling which he never seems to mind:) |
I don't like too but they just love the rain my pups :) |
My dogs (Yorkie and Bichon) don't mind the rain or the snow or anything kind of weather at all. But - none of them like being out very long when it is freezing cold -- nor do I! I would continue to take your dog out - but stay out only as long as she seems to be enjoying the walk. If she gets cold or doesn't like being wet - and wants to go back home - I'd turn around and home we'd go. Carol Jean |
I keep them indoors in rain or snow. They go on the wee wee pads - it's just not worth them getting a chill or getting sick. (Call me overprotective!) :) |
nope no rain for us and we dont get snow here so |
I take Zena out in the rain (or snow), just not for very long, especially when it is freezing cold like it is now. I think its no problem to take them out in the rain for a short walk so they can at least do their business :) |
We do once in a while, but generally we don't take them out when it's raining and yes, Seattle rains a whole bunch! Even with clothes on, they do start shivering when it's wet out and we don't want to risk them getting sick. We try to make up for it on non-rainy days and take them out for extra play time. :) |
Nope we don't take our girls out in the rain, they get cold too quickly, and they litterbox trained, but we do take them for extra play on sunny days. |
no..i will not take my dogs to walk in the rain.:animal36 |
A mile and a half -- a great! walk, by the way -- might be a little ambitious in the cold and rain. I'd stop if they don't stop shivering. My guys prefer snow and 20 degrees to rain, but I make them walk anyway. Put a raincoat on, keep up the pace, and they should be able to deal with it. |
No I dont take mine out for walk in the rain. I have hard enought time to get them to go out to potty when its raining. Then have not seen snow yet, so I dont know how well that well go over... I am thinking this winnter is going to be a pain in the butt, scent my girls hate rain... but the odd thing is, they love taking showers or baths and love playing the in puppy pool during the summer... so maybe its just the rain... |
