My Zeus has tremors Zeus acts like he his cold but he is not. When he is just sitting or lying down he starts to shake. It does go away after abit but he never did this until a week ago. Zeus is 6 yrs.old, I didn't take him to his vet yet but I will just want some imput if anyone has any. I also have 3 more yorkies love them with all my HEART!!!! So if you know anything about this please share it with me Thank you very much Susie |
My oldest boy Maxx who is 7 yrs old is allergic to EVERYTHING and when his tummy hurts (which has been alot in the last 7 yrs) it he shakes - not constantly but he'll shake for a little bit and then stop and then it starts all over again. None of my others do this - with Maxx, I learned alot about veterinary medicine LOL. You can give your baby some pepto Bismol - Max is 7 lbs and I give him a full teaspoon of it in an eye dropper. It does help. Try this ok? Is he eating grass when he goes outside? That's another sign that their tummy hurts. If it doesn't stop, you need to take him to the vet. Good luck |
Look up the "White shaker dog syndrome" on the Internet. This is a condition that was once thought to affect small breeds (predominantely "white" breeds). But - it has since been learned that it affects many other breeds as well........including Yorkies. There are several articles about this on the Internet.....read them and see what you think. You might share one of these articles with your vet. Believe me, there are a lot of things out there thay they may never have run across (nothing wrong with this....). And, if they haven't, they may find this interesting. PS: My husband was a physician - and, he learned something new everyday....and a lot of it came from his patients. Good luck - Carol Jean |
White shaker dog syndrome I went to a web site www.vetinfo4dogs.com and there it was. I'm taking Zeus to our vet and just to make sure. I know it is very heart breaking too see Zeus like this but I know in my heart he'll be just fine. I will do what ever it takes to see him get well. I want to THANK YOU for your help. Like I said Zeus only does the shaking for a bit it is in his back legs his eyes do not roll or his head does not do anything. So I think he does have White shaker dog syndrome. And it says he'll live a normal life with some shaking, off to the vet Zeus goes. Again thank you for you help!!! Susie & zeus |

Pippa shakes when my phone beeps to say the battery is running out!!! This went on for weeks til eventually we worked it out, hasnt done it for months now as always keeps my phone fully charged. Is there maybe some sorta noise that may be making ur baby tremor? |
Jewels shakes at times and Chachi dooes if he is scared. I would be concerned about your dog doing it though since he never has in the past |
Zeus and shaking No there is nothing that starts it he is a pretty tough little guy The 4th of July does not bother him or any noise. This just started he sometimes shakes pretty bad then as fast as they came they are gone. I watch him to see if anything triggers the shakes but no. The shaking does not stop him from doing anything like going outside, for a ride in the car or going for a walk. I see him shaking like he's cold but thats not it. I'm praying this goes away. But if it does not He'll be very well cared for he is my baby and we love him. Again thank you for your help. Love thoses YORKIES Susie,, Zeus 6yrs Clhoe 6yrs, Venus2yrs and Midas 2yrs |
I realize this is an old thread by I was wondering what the diagnosis was for this dog! I am asking because I have a yorkie that is doing the same thing. Blood testing is not showing any problems. |

we didn't find an answer. |
Thank you for the quick reply..... I would also like to ask if your yorkie has taken any antibiotics immediately prior to the first episode? And also weight loss, hair. Loss, frequent urination, frequent drinking, eyes dilated? Any of these symptoms? |

Yes my dog was on ciprofloxacin and it's the same class of drugs as orbax. You might want to tell your vet of the similarities. My dog had an MRI and work up for this because he was so bad he was falling over. |
