Frantic after baths, normal? Hi, my yorkie Howie is really calm during his baths and doesn't mind it too much. But, when we get out, and I'm drying him, he's extremely frantic. He's EVERWHERE! He tosses, turns, rolls around. I don't think he's cold because I usually use a warm towel from the dryer, and even when I haven't, he's been that way. Also, he isn't afraid of the blowdryer because he sees/hears me using it every day. Also, I know it's not too hot because I"m constantly moving it around. Please let me know if your babies do this as well. Thank you! |
Haha...I think it's normal. Piccolo acts crazy after the bath. Runs in circles barking at the same time, rolls on the floor ( I leave a body towel for him because the carpet gives him statics). He jumps up and down the chairs and plays with himself ! So don't worry, our babies act like that all the time. |
Both of mine are all over the bathroom when I'm blowdrying, and even right after they get out of the bath. I learned fast to keep the door shut, till I get them dried! They love rolling on the bathrug, and the 2-3 towels I have on the floor! As well as anywhere from standing still for the blowdryer, to moving all over the bathroom with it. They go wild when they know I'm through too! Adonis knows I'm through when I start to pick up his collar. I think its kinda normal, well, for mine anyway! And oh, btw....they great in the tub...perfect angels! |
Yup pretty normal. They don't go so crazy if you blow dry them before you turn them loose. |
It's Normal Kiki does the same thing. He goes from room to room rubbing his face against the carpet. He even jumps on my bed and rub. I think they do it to get themselves dry quicker. :D |
Mia goes NUTSSSSSS - she literally jumps on our king size bed, runs in circles ON HER SIDE, jumps like a toad, flips, turns, make a funny grrrrr sound, tries to get under the comforter when she really doesn't like to, jumps on all of pillows (6-8), changes direction etc. At first I was a little alarmed, but now I just do this bugle thing and go along with her! :grin2: |
Yep dont worry it is perfectly normal. Chachi goes crazy after his baths too |
Yep its normal James runs around like a mad man for about 20 minutes after the bath then he kinda wears himself out!! |
HEHE :D My two yorkies and pekingese do the same thing!! They toss and turn and are up and down on everything. They go absolutely crazy! Don't worry your baby is normal :) |
Mine does the same thing, I leave a towel down and they are running up and down the towel, and when I blow dry them they hide there head in my arm pit lol And I just love it :animal-pa |
Totally normal - I have had a lot of dogs - and never had one that didn't do this. I don't know why they do it - but I have always felt that they are just "happy happy happy" to be done with that bath. Plus - they're "wet" and you can tell that they are doing whatever they can to dry themselves off. If they weren't so "happy" --- I'd feel sorry for them. But mine are "ecstatic" and seem to be having the time of their life. Carol Jean |
Like everyone else said : Normal : Heidi just hates the blow dryer, we usually get everything dried but her head LOL :( |
I just LOVE when Mojo does this! We always get a big kick out of it.....we video tape and take pictures......sometimes, I work it out where I give Mojo a bath when my niece & nephew are here......they just giggle and laugh! Awww....our furbabies.......what would our homes be like w/o their craziness....and love?! |
Thank you everyone for the reply. I'm glad to know this is normal and I shouldn't worry. At first I got really scared because I wasn't sure if something was wrong with him. :( But, I see it's just their nature. |
:) Not to worry my pups do that all the time after their bath its like they try to dry themselves lol |
