Another Yorkie I been thinking about getting another Yorkie because Coco must get so lonely and bored while I'm at school by herself. I have a s**tzu/poodle mix but he is already 13 and doesn't like to play as much as her so she is always chasing him and he just walks away from her lol. I feel so bad when he does that! I know Coco's brother is still for sale and was thinking about trying to get him as a Christmas gift! Do you think having another Yorkie is a good idea or too much work? |
If you have enough time for them both that would be great! When i bought Gracie i wanted somone for her to play w/ but ended up not getting another! Good luck! Hope coco gets a new friend! |
I have two yorkies and I got my second one because I knew Hobbs was lonely when we left him at home all alone. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having two. It isn't much more work, but it is double the vet bills. That is the only downside. But if you have the money, then I say GO FOR IT! It is so much fun having two. Double the love, double the yorkie kisses, double the fun!!!! |
Personally, I wouldn't get a second one while your original one is still a puppy. I think that will only hinder housebreaking, training, etc. |
really? I was thinking of the same thing, I wanted one around the same age as Teddy so he can play with him/her. |
If you have the time and money, I say go for it!! Mine are never lonely because they always have each other when I am gone and it really helps alot. I heard if you get two siblings from the same litter, the will establish a very close bond with each other. I have seen people who got two siblings and it seems to be true. I will be getting two maltese girls soon and they are sisters and already close. |
I don't know, you waited and wanted Coco for so long I think you should just enjoy her for now. Let her bond with you rather than another yorkie is my opinion. You'll have breaks from school and summer vacation...just think of how nice it will be to be able to take Coco with you places. With two it'll just end up being too hard. They do have doggy daycares and places that you can take your puppy to so they can socialize with other dogs, that might be a better idea. |
I actually got Lily right after I got my Pomeranian puppy and I am so glad I did it at that time. We had had our pom for 6 months so he was pretty much housebroken but still a puppy. He and Lily are best buds, I think it has been good for both of them to grow up together. If you can afford the extra vet expense and handle two dogs go for it! I have 3 dogs and except for the expense I don't think 3 are any harder than 1. Eventually they all will get on the same eating, going out, and sleeping schedule. I really think they all teach each other and learn from each other, so I think 2(or more) is better than 1. |
I had two yorkie pups at the same time and they learned form each other. Potty training was a little more difficult with two but not too bad. Chachi and Jewels are inseparable and I would do it again. I say get Coco a friend. |
It is alot of work having two puppies. Darla is almost 8 months now and Reece is 4 months..Hope will be home at the end of November...crazy busy but I love every minute of it!! Dawn |
I would say GO FOR IT!!! I hated the thought of mine being lonely or wanting for anything. I just spoil them way too much. |
