Yorkie Hair Styles I feel sure that this has been discussed before but....I would like advice form some experienced Yorkie Groomers. What is/are the best hair styles for Yorkies if you don't want their hair long? Thanks, Teri |
I would certainly love to see some pics myself! Bump up! |
wow there are some pretty crazy hairstyles on there! i never though about braiding a yorkies hair that's cute! |
We keep Chachis in a puppy cut and it is very cute. |
2 Attachment(s) we have done lots with dallas, I use him as my grooming school buddy here are pics of him in a westie cut and i later learned the snauchzer cut. |
How Cute! I had never considered a Westie cut but that is adorable. I have been using a modified Schnauzer cut for mine. I like to trim the beard off of the girls and leave it on the guys. I also leave the ears with fur on them. The next time I groom them, I will be sure to let you see. Thanks, Teri |
I love the Westie cut  although I do like the very short cut that makes them look like a rat. I don't know what it is called...a rat cut maybe? :P |

Clippers I use a set of cordless clippers by Wahl. I have arthritis in my hands and they are lighter. Another plus to them, they run with a lower sound and it doesn't frighten the dawgs like the louder electric ones. I keep the setting on the longest setting running only with the hair growth. Thanks, Teri |
Rat Clip Well I decided to trim my boy the other night and he definitely looks like a "rat"... I feel bad because everyone says "poor Scrappy... what did she do to you!" The truth is I think he looks adorable. He probably would have looked better if the groomer had done it but he hates all the groomers he has been to so I save him the stress and did it myself! He has had long hair since day 1... I have never shaved him till now. I think he really likes it as well. It is lighter and it is easier to get really good scratches! If anyone has a good grooming book to suggest or the proper blade sizes and trimmers I would really appreciate the info. I plan to continue to try to groom both my babies myself and I would love to become better at it! |
Well....the more you do it, the better you will be. Practice, practice, practice...;) Teri |
