Any suggestions?? You are all going to think I'm silly but Tilly really has got me confused. When we moved back in early June Tilly started to have accidents more frequently during the night. I just thought it was because her surroundings changed and didn't think a thing about it and just told her not to go in the apartment. In July I started getting sick a lot (morning, noon, and night) and hubby and I found it more comfortable and easier if we slept on the sofa bed in the living room. I then started to notice right away that she wasn't having accidents in the middle of the night. My sickness really only lasted into part of August so we then started to sleep back in our bedroom. The problem started again. I thought maybe she was scared of the dark when she went to get her a drink, so I put a nightlight up for her. That didn't help. The past two nights we slept on the sofa bed and she didn't have any accidents. I woke up to her being soaked this morning. (She is in heat and in a diaper right now.) Why is it that she only has accidents when we sleep in our bedroom? We take her out right before bed time and sometimes even an hour after we lay down I will walk in the living room and she had pee'd, poo'd, or both. We didn't buy a new bed and she has no problems at all getting up or down. I just can't figure out what might be causing this. Any suggestions???? |
There has to be something different about that room... Is it really cold or hot? Is there new carpeting (Maybe giving off fumes?) Noisier like maybe over the furnace or heater? Mold in the walls? The fact you got sick could be something in the room that now you are used to, or maybe she is reacting to you being sick there? I dunno. Just thinking outloud here. Interesting! Keep us updated! |
I'm not an expert by any means...but perhaps it's habit? Are you using the same bedding on your bed that you're using on the sofa bed? Perhaps if you take the bedding from the sofa bed and put it on your bed. (?) She might be smelling her urine (even though you clean it) on the bed. Are you using fabric softener? I know my previous dog had a real problem with fabric softeners of any kind (it's not recommended that you use fabric softeners around dogs, anyway) Like I said, I'm not an expert at all....I hope you're able to find the solution! |

We always use this soft blankie, Tilly and I share. No matter where we sleep I always take that with me. I don't use fabric softner and my laundry detergent has no perfumes in it. It's the hypoallergenic type. Thank you for all of your suggestions. |
