Females when they come in heat I did a post on this and was told females come into heat the first time at 7 mos. Then I read a post and someones dog went into heat at 5 mos. How common is it for a dog to go into heat that early. I am asking because I have a small female 12 weeks and a male 16 weeks and I am counting down untill I can get my male neutered. I really can't take any chances that my little female would get pregnant. |

I too am quite curious as well because my little guys "pink" just started to come out.. i don't know if it means anything, but i'm guessing that it'll soon be time for ginger's heat to come. and i don't plan to breed them, well if i did i would wait till ginger is about 6-7 lbs and i'd keep the puppies all to myself  |

I know I now waiting to see a little red thing too!!! Nothing so far. I am hoping to get him neutered before he starts lifting his leg. My vet neuters them at 6 mos. He has about two months to go. |

heat Females can come into season any time..average age is 6 to 8 months. Some go longer or earlier..and yes, they can get pregnant. I don't quite understand the "red thing"...if you mean his penis..he was born with it and it has always been there..you can see it pups if the sheath is pulled back...they will remove his testicules, but not his penis when he is neutered. LoL Yorkierose I really better clarify!!! I am really hoping not to see it but expecting to when I hear others stories!!!!! I thank you for answering my post. I am just gonna have to get Chaci neutered as soon as I can then. I really wish I had more time to play with that way if he needs teeth pulled I could get it done. It seems like 6 mos would be to young to get any of his retaining teeth done. |
