Addison's disease Has anybody every heard of this. A friend of mine's son and his wife have a 2year old rottweiller that was diagnosed with this. They say the shots cost about 150.00 a month and they just can't afford it and don't know what to do. I've read a little about it online, but was wondering if anybody knows or has had a dog with addison's and what they did. Joan |
I've heard of it but I know nothing about it. |
I heard of it too maybe you could type a search in google? |
Addison's disease occurs when the adrenal glands do not produce enough of the hormone cortisol. The disease is characterized by weight loss, muscle weakness, fatigue, low blood pressure, and sometimes darkening of the skin in both exposed and nonexposed parts of the body. My sister-in-law actually has this. It is controled very well with steroids. |

My 8yr old male yorkie has been diagnosed with Addison's |
I hope & pray they will get the medicine he needs. For 2 years I spent way more than that a month to help my baby with GEM. Yes, it was hard, but just went without a lot of things that we found out we really didn't need anyway. GET the shots. |
