A good tip Hi Everyone, As some of you know, we had a scare with my sweet little Rexy today - we thought he ate some Advil - but thankfully, I don't think that he did. Anyway, Advil causes kidney failure and so to be on the safe side, the vet said that we needed to push fluids (to flush through his kidneys) and get him to drink as much as possible. But, how on earth though, do you push fluids with a furbaby. That's my tip! :) The vet mentioned chicken or beef broth. I know that canned broth contains lots of salt and I didn't want him to have that much salt. So, I boiled a chicken and then I diluted the broth - 1/2 broth 1/2 water and gave it to him. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! He has drank as much as I needed him to drink everytime I offered it to him. The thing is that Rowdy is such a picky eater and will hardly eat anything - and HE LOVED IT TOO! Now, when I need either of them to drink due to illness or whatever, I know how to do it. I just thought I would share this with everyone. Have a good day! :aimeeyork |
I love tips.....and I will try to remember that one! |
Thanks for the tip and glad your furball is ok. |
