She's VERY active and agile - LOVES to play more than her smaller & yonger sister ....I love the fact that she's so sturdy she can play like she does.. Oh.... and Chanel lots of hair so I'm guessing that counts for a pound Chanel is on the LEFT - she's 10 lbs....Cheri is 6 lbs on the right - see ? not much difference !! |
Anyway , big or small they are all adorable . My first Yorkie named Maia was looking like an Australian Terrier . She was black and tan with a white spot on her chest . She gave me the best 18 years with an extremely faithful friend . As I always say , Yorkshire Terriers are once in a lifetime dogs . |

I have the opposite problem - Tucker won't grow!! He's only 2.5 pounds at almost 5 months! I thought he would be much bigger. I'm not worried about his health, because he eats a lot, and he's actually a little chunky - his frame is just SO short and small!! I want him to get a little bigger. Maybe I'll start him on steroids and lifting weights!! JK!!! |
When I got Bailey I saw his parents Mom was 7pds, and Dad was about 5 pds.. so Im figuring,,, Ya thats a good average.... WELL,,, his now 11 months old and 9.8 pounds! ,,, Ya just NEVER know,, but I can say hes done growing he hasnt changed size or weight in months! |

You can see mine in my avatar... it's funny, they don't look so different in pictures! |
I have a 1-year-old Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie) named Ruby who is 15 lbs ...the "guidelines for Yorkie weight is 3-7 lbs, and for Shih Tzus it is 9-16 lbs...so she is barely in that range...we were looking for something smaller (we always babysit my in-laws' Yorkie, Scrappy, he is 10 lbs, fat...he should be 8 lbs) but fell in love with Ruby...now, we like that she is bigger because we can play rougher with her (She LOVES it) and she is just small enough to sit in our laps :p We still love our Scrappy, of course... |
My Stomper is about 10 pounds at 5 months. I was told he would be 8 full grown. he will probably be around 13 pounds. I don't mind. He is pretty much potty trained and has great teeth - very common with bigger yorkies. Originally, I wanted one at 8 pounds total, but I am very happy that I have a big yorkie! |
Rex! Rex! Oh no today Rexs got loose, out of the yard, ran in the house and ran outside thorugh the front door! i stampeded down the steps and ran straight outside! unluckily for him, the gate was closed so he couldnt get out. if a yorkie smaller in weight tried this he would hae beein through the bars and out of site in a flash |

I felt so bad I wasn't here - he has severe acute emphysema and is on a lung transplant list ...and he had to chase this jackrabbit thru the neighbors yards.....needless to say I got a phone call to get my butt home ! Whew - They can really scare you with how fast they are ! |
Feel Better Soon |
Rex found a new game. he now pulls down my curly hair and watches in amazement as it springs back up! :) |
