OMG! Max is absolutely PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to YorkieTalk! Hope you enjoy your time here. This place really is addicting, so WATCH OUT! :p :p What part of Tennessee do you live in? I'm in Huntsville, AL, just south of Nashville. But my husband is from Chattanooga so we visit there frequently. |

Welcome to Yorkietalk and congrats on the new addition to your family! What precious babies. I particularly love the last pic with the three kids on the couch. We are next-door-state neighbors. I live in Georgia, about 1/2 way between Atlanta and Chattanooga. |

http://www.darnfar.com/Dog%20Trainin...ng_a_puppy.htm A lot of dogs won't potty in their crate. One of my yorkies would potty in his crate and one of my yorkies would never potty in her crate. If Max is one of those who will potty in his crate, you will need to make the crate very small, only big enough for him to stand up, turn around, and lay down. However, if he won't potty in his crate, you can give him more room. But try following that pottying schedule that I just posted. The main thing is be VERY VERY consistent. If you let Max get away with pottying where he isn't supposed to even a couple of times, then it will be much harder to train him. Don't hesitate to post any questions you may have along the way. Or if you have specific questions about crate training, feel free to send me a private message. I would love to help in any way that I can!!!!!!!! |
Welcome aboard!! |
CONGRATULATIONS Max is a sweetie (I love that name) My first Yorkie was called MAX, I also named my puppy SAMSON but have changed it to Teddy as it suits him. Your two are adorable. |
thank you rebecca so very much! i guess its just all new to me right now, sampson was very easily crate trained and i belive that is the way to go. there are times when i cant take my dogs with me places and im always scared to leave them out. you never know what they can get into or chew on ect. i kinda got max on a whim. my aunt took a ladies dogs b/c she is in the hospital dethly ill, and she trusted my aunt to do the right thing with them since she had 2 pups out of her litters. she just didnt feel that selling the pups without a guaruntee ( since she could pass at any time ) would be right. so she let my aunt find pet homes for them. she has done all the testing and dewclaws were removed ect. but since i had always wanted one my aunt asked me the other day and i jumped at the opportunity without really reading up alot on the breed. so i really appreciate any and all advice any of you have! im going to start this method you mentioned rebecca and i really appreciate it! |
