Little Samy 1 Attachment(s) I too am a new mother of 10 week old Maggie. She is a very picky eater. Recently I started feeding her this and she loves it: 2 tsp. Iam's Ground Up Dry Puppy Food 1 tsp. Gerber Chicken and Gravy Baby Food Enough 50/50 diluted Goat's milk to mix with above. Should look somewhat like loose mashed potatoes. She has been eating this three times a day and now strutting a chubby belly. Her potty training has also improved, because I am no longer a Short Order cook. She eats on a regular schedule, which makes potty training very easy. She get her Nutristat mid morning, mid afternoon and at bedtime. I was beginning to worry that she was going to die on me. All she wanted to do was eat, sleep and be hyper when awake. Good Luck. Let us know how Sammy is doing. |
Your puppies sound so cute. It is definitely harder to pottytrain two than one because you have to try to get them on the same schedule and watch them constantly. It takes lots of persistence, consistency and patience. My friend, Dante, who owns Yorkie Couture has house training down. She imports puppies from Brazil so she has to train a lot of puppies and she has a routine and they go potty after they wake up, after they play, after they eat and every hour. When they are in the house and not in a crate or a playpen they wear doggy diapers or bellybands for the boys. She has an xpen set up outside and it is small enough that they cannot really play in there. They kknow that they are in there to potty and they don't get out until they do. Her puppies quickly learn to eliminate on command. She uses "hurry up" instead of "go potty" to avoid being offensive when in public! I have learned a lot from her! She cleans up the poop immediately so the pen is always clean! My Hefner would also play forever and not stop to eat so I have to be vigilant and keep his schedule fairly regimented so he gets a certain amount of play time and then a certain period to rest. I was more concerned about this when he was younger. He is now 7 months old. I still "free feed" him and make sure he always has fresh food and water in several places around the house all day long. If he goes with me I carry kibble and water and feed him frequestly. Good luck with your babies. Things do get better as they get older and their habits become more manageable and apparent. |
Wow - two puppies MUST be a challange to potty train. I am having issues with just ONE! As far as the chewing - have you tried bitter apple spray? that stopped Tia's chewing right in it's tracks :) |
