4 year old yorkie teeth I just got a 4 year old yorkie and notice she has one front tooth missing and her teeth don't look good she looks health but was kept in a kennel when I first got her you could tell she had not had much attention I have had her 6 days and she is a total different dog she love to sit in my lap and love to be loved I have done ready spoiled her rotton I am so glad I got her just to show her love just worried about her teeth |
Congratulations . What is her name ? |
Welcome to YT - You and she are going to love it here! So much info.... Regarding her teeth. IF she has been kept in a kennel for her 4 years, she mostly likely NEVER had her teeth brushed or NEVER had any chew toys to help with tarter and plaque. You can start now with brushing her teeth or even just getting the 'wipe' clothes for teeth and then I would suggest a Vet appointment and they will probably like to do a teeth cleaning and possibly remove any 'bad' teeth. Has she been spayed yet??? IF NOT, then the Vet can do both at the same time! Good luck and keep us posted :) |
4 yr old yorkie her name is tashie no she was used to breed not spayed yet and thank you for the replys she make my 4th yorkie I just love them my other yorkie is so rotten I really didn't relize how rotten they were until I got Tashie |

Welcome to YT. Good luck with your new furbaby.:) You will be very happy with a Yorkie. They are also very smart. I just ordered a product called Petzlife. It is a spray that gets sprayed into your pets mouth to get rid of the tartar and plaque. It is not too expensive $22.00. You can get it from www.petzlife.com. Also brushing with dog toothpaste will help as well as chew toys. Be careful with these. Stay away from rawhide and nylabones if he is a real chewer. Small pieces of nylabone can come off and they are not digestable unless they are the eatable kind. Post pictures if you can.:D |
You want to be careful with teeth as an infection can go through the entire body. You may want to have a vet take a look as this can cause problem with heart, kidney and liver. It is easy enough to clear up with antibiotics and a cleaning. You can start by brushing etc but I would want to see if there is an infection needing attention. |
Ditto I agree take a trip to the vet to have her teeth checked, and then start brushing and giving toys that help to keep teeth clean, the food you feed can help too, what do you feed her? WELCOME TO YT |
Oh the poor little thing. She must think she died and went to heaven. Give her lots of hugs and kisses. |
thanks I will take her to the vet I have brushed her teeth everyday She has already got so close to me she want hardly let me out of her sight she is such a good girl I think I done have her spoiled I thank god I got her and can show her lots of love Thanks for your help |
