potty pads Molly is 6 months and totally trained to the potty pad. I think this is great. However I have trouble with the pad leaking. When I pick the pad up ( 3 times a day, more if there is a poo.) It is wet underneath. I have used several brands and have had the same thing happen. I have hardwood floors and I am afraid the urine will stain them. Does anyone know of a pad that doesn't leak? Right now I am putting down two pads at once. Also I have seen people post about a pad holder. What is this. Is it a tray of some sort that would keep the pee off my floor? Thanks Connie K |
Maybe it's not leaking but it's because she peeing close to the edge, so some will go underneath the pad. I used to have that problem, so I started to use a litter box and I put the pad inside; that way, if any goes underneath, it will stay in the box and not in my floor. I like it because it gives boundaries to the pad; though it may take sometime for your baby to get used to the pad in a box. |
i use the wee pad holder it works wonders, i also put newspaper in the pad holder and the wee pad on top of that.... for now you can put newspaper under the wee pad until you get the holder |
Try using reusable/washable pads. I would change their pads frequently and it would still leak through and I tried several disposable pads. Now I have the reusable ones and there is no leaking at all as they absorb twice the moisture as disposable ones, wash up nice with no stains and no odors and save you money on pads. I even don't have to change them as often since they absorb so much more.  |
I use washable pads, too. I bought them on e-bay and they are great ! |
I have the holder and it works great. But, be sure to order the one that is a tray and not just a frame. They make several kinds. The tray is plastic and the pad fits in it with a frame that lays on top. They also make a frame only one which is not at all beneficial in keeping the floor dry. My yorkie does real well with going on it as it defines the area a little better than just a pad on the ground. I think I ordered mine from Fosters/Smith. Hope that helps. |
