coat care :aimeeyork I recently purchased a one and a half pound 5 month old yorkie. Right now her coat is shabby looking, the lady I got her from said it is where she is sheeding her puppy coat and it is being replaced bye her adult hair. I was wonddering if anyone could tell me of any vitamins, shampoo, or conditioner that might help. |
I hope someone with experience answers but I do know that are yorkies do not shed. Just make sure you are using good shampoos and conditioners. |
Wow she is tiny. You might want to get some Missing Link. You sprinke it on their food. It has Omega fatty acids in it that are good for the skin and coat. I got mine at Petsmart |
I also use Missing Link. Also make sure she is on a Super Premium quality food. Any food on this list with a protein level between 20-30% is an EXCELLENT choice for your furbaby. I personally would recommend Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul (which is actually formulated for all life stages, not just puppies) because the kibbles are very very tiny. Your tiny tiny little girl is going to need tiny tiny kibbles in order for her to be able to chew it up. Chicken Soup Puppy formula has the tiniest bites I've ever seen. Good luck wtih your new addition! |
Congratulations I would also recommend the Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul and either Plush Puppy or Chris Christensen Shampoos and conditioners. Also the Cowboy Magic detangler & shine is good. I haven't yet tried the Missing Link but certainly intend to as it is highly recommended by many whose advice I respect. If your baby is that small, I would also recommend you keep some Nutrical on hand at all times. You really need to watch one that small for hypoglycemia at all times. Good luck.:) |
Thanks Everyone I will try your suggestions. The vet recomended that i give her 3ccs of honey three times a day for hycoglocemina. She loves it. He wants her to have a little fat on her rump and around her ribs. She is such an Angel.:) |
