Anyone ever heard of this kind of puppy? I'm not sure if i would post this here, but i am planning on getting another puppy in the future and i was wondering if anyone can tell what a "Linnois" puppy is, i'm not sure if that's just another name for a yorkie/maltese puppy? I want a other Yorkie but my boyfriend wants something different so then i said ok a Maltese, but now that i think about it maybe i might get a yorkie/maltese best of both worlds. :aimeeyork Does anyone here have any yorkie/maltese mix? and if so can you post some pics? how is the temperment? is it more yorkie looking or maltese looking? Any help would be great |
There are a few people on here that have morkies (I think there are a bunch of names for them). I remember seeing a pic in the My Yorikie section of an adorable little morkie furball :) They are so cute! |
A mixed breed is a mix, you are going to get anywhere between a Yorkie and a maltese. Temperment can't be guaranteed and neither can anything else including looks, colour and size. There is no such thing as hybrid vigour either in crosses, they can have any of the health conditions that may exist in the breeds that are in that cross. That's why registered purebreds exist. If you buy from a reputable breeder of a purebred breed, you know already what you are getting. |

A linois is a yorkie + maltese/bischon. Here are some pictures I found http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...1/P4220073.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...1/P3160006.jpg Hope that helps! |

My Darla is a Borkie (yorkie/bichon) there are some really nice yorkie mixes that make adorable pups!! Dawn |
Linois Hi, We're in Montreal, and when we got Oscar, they told us that he's a new breed, not yet registered. They said he's a mix of yorkie, and maltese and a third race but wouldn't tell us because the breeder didn't want people to steal his "creation"/"idea". My hubby said he's "designer mutt" :yelrotflm :animal36 I can understand where the names "morkie" and "borkie" come from but where in the name of heck did they come up with "Linois" ??? I've been searching to see exactly what is a Linois...to no avail. Oscar has more of a yorkie characters, bossy, protective, sociable, and very affectionate. a very good "watch dog". If any body out there know exactly what a Linois is I would luv to know. ---- Oscar's mom http://www.dogster.com/dogs/383481 |

If you don't care if you get a mix breed that is up to you, as long as you realize this is not a new breed and will not be recongnized as such. |
Ok, I asked my cousin who is a vet if he had ever heard of this breed, as I couldn't find a direct answer on the net and my curiosity was peeked. His exact answer is as follows "It is a fancy name for a yorkie/maltese mix. A lot of breeders try to pass them off as a "new" breed for lots of money. They are simply cute cute mutts." |
Morkie Mama here 3 Attachment(s) I have a little Morkie (I like 'Yorktese' better :p) and she looks nothing like any other Morkies I have seen. I always go to Dogster and look at the Morkies there - I can spot similar ones, but there aren't any 2 that are alike (well, Ceiba and her brother, maybe!). I agree with Lorraine (A mixed breed is a mix...Temperment can't be guaranteed and neither can anything else including looks, colour and size...) when it comes to these mixes. Here are pics of Ceiba and Ace (my Morkie Monkeys!) Attachment 108106 Attachment 108107 Attachment 108108 |
Oh, I was just curious that's all. I fell for Oscar the moment I saw him, didn't care much about mutt or pure. He has been good company for the last 7 years...and many more to come I hope. He has got good temperaments, gets on well with the cats, the other dog, and quite tolerant with children...though he is a bit bossy:D and very protective. I figured that Oscar was a Yorkie mix with Maltese, thank you for the confirmation... Thank you again |
4 Attachment(s) If you have a Yorkie & want a mix, Morkies are the best. Max & Piper get along great together, Best friends. Misha my Maltese is more laid back, doesn't like the hyperness of the other 2. Here's some pictures of Piper when we got her & now. |
i personally do not think mixed breeds should be bought i understand shelter or pond fees to adopt but other than that i dont believe people who mix dogs to sale should be payed or encouraged |
