Puppy stool Hi, i need advice...Shadow is 5 months and when he pooped today, there was mucus in his stool. Should I call the dr? Should I wait till he has another bowel movement? I'm worried! |
one of my puppies had this as well this morning. he is six weeks and has been in the house since he was born. it looked like clear jelly. i hope someone answers this question....if not, my puppies go to get their first shots wednesday and i will ask my vet and let you know |
I read somewhere on here that they "sometimes" will have mucus in their poop because they strain too hard. I would confer with a vet, but that is what I have read. |
If the mucus on the poop is the only thing unusual w/ your baby, and he's alert frolicsome, eating and drinking well and dewormed, I wouldn't worry... my dogs sometimes had it too but that was nothing to worry about... Maybe the poop was a little dry... usually that's what causes it... Anyway, call the Vet and ask, it'll peace your mind... |
Now, don't quote me on this. I thought I had read somwhere that it can be from their anal glands. Anyone else heard this? |
