Enzymatic Toothpaste for babies OK, I couldn't find the answer to this exact question, so I am asking. Forgive me if it has been answered before. I have Gerber Tooth and Gum Cleanser for my daughter. It's ingredients are: Glycerin, Water, Xylitol, Sorbitol, Propylene glycol, Pectin, Xanthan gum, Colloidal silicon dioxide, Natural apple flavor, Natural banana flavor, Sorbic acid, Calciaum lactate. Would this be safe for Layla until my order comes in for the doggy paste? It has no fluoride in it, so wouldn't think it would be harmful...but then again, you never know and thought maybe one of you would. TIA for any info! |

YIKES!!! I did find my answer...glad I checked first! So NO NEVER EVER EVER! Eventhough it doesn't have fluoride, which is what I thought was the onlyproblem with human kind...it has xylitol..which I KNEW was rining bells and raising flags and is why I asked. That is very poisonous...like chewing gum. You know....I am glad I checked further for sure and thanks for the answer too Kalina! |

NO, xylitol is not safe for dogs. Xylitol should not be used for pets, especially dogs Because of xylitol’s tremendous benefits, many people want to share it with their pets. Although perfectly safe for human consumption, xylitol may pose a risk to your pets, especially dogs. Because the metabolic processes of a dog are different than those of a human, xylitol poses a risk of toxicosis and hypoglycemia if ingested by dogs. Common symptoms associated with the ingestion of xylitol may include depression and vomiting, and hypoglycemia. If you suspect your dog has ingested xylitol, contact your veterinarian immediately. |
