What were your reasons for getting a 2nd?? I keep going back and forth in my head on whether or not to get a 2nd yorkie... for those that have two, what was your reason?? |

Who needs a reason? LOL Cause two yorkies are twice as much fun . Because they play so cute together. Because they won't be so clingy, unless of course you like clingy. Cause they are just so darned cute together. Cause you get twice as much attention when you take them to PetCo/Petsmart. Cause you don't feel so guilty when you leave them home alone. The reasons are endless. |

I just got my 2nd two and a half week ago. Had been thinking about getting a 2nd one, but hadn't really decided and then Carley kinda fell into my lap. I wanted another for Cooper to play with. He wanted to play all the time and sometimes I just couldn't. Also, I only work 10 hours a week, but hate to leave him by himself, that was another reason. I just kind of thought it would be good for him to have another dog...and I was right...it was. The first couple of days were a little rocky, but after that they have gotten along really well, and I really think it was a great thing for him. He loves to play with her and another good side effect is that he is eating better. He was so picky...I went from food to food with him...but she is a good eater and he has started to be one too, just because she eats so well. That is a huge bonus for me. I won't kid you, it is more work, but it is so worth it and every day that goes by, she fits right in with us and I think in just another couple weeks it won't seem like extra work, just like it always was. We got a second because we wanted Hobbs to have a friend / playmate, twice the fun, twice the love, twice the yorkie kisses, twice the joy. I love having 2. I will always have 2 of whatever breed of dog I ever have. I have just loved seeing how much fun they have together. They are really best friends and really keep each other company. We want to get a labrador and we will definately have 2 labradors, too. Things are better in pairs. ;) |
Just love my Rosi, and she seemed lonely for another dog to play with, so i got Poli for her, and me too of course, what a playful cuddlebug ! And Rosi is eating better too since he has been home. |
Cause you CANT have just one!!?? What fun would THAT be lol...I love the fact that they are lap dogs and it would take at least 3 to fill this lap of mine up...so I may be needing one more hehe.. Dawn |
Were going to be getting another dog because my bf wants his "own" dog (Rocky is more attached to me) and because Rocky needs a friend. It's gotten so bad that Rocky wants me to play with him the way he plays with other dogs; chasing eachother, standing still then running after eachother again. LOL |
twice as nice!! Soon after I got Lily, I started thinking about having a second puppy. I returned to work in August (school district) and wanted a playmate for her when I returned to work. So , we got Roscoe in July. I'm so glad we did!!They are the best buddies. I agree that you can't have just one!! We've had other dog breeds and we have usually had 2 dogs at one time. Gives them someone to romp with and hang with all the time! I love both of my Yorkies so, and they each have their own unique personalities to love!!:aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
For the last year or so, everytime I'd go to my baby sisters house I'd take Adonis. He adores her 3 big dogs, and really has a blast down there! I'd played with the idea of getting another for awhile, and just went ahead and did it. He loves Venus, and they have a blast playing together! He's been my one and only for 5 years. I love watching him play with her, something I only seen him do when he's down at my sisters. Before Venus the last couple of years, he'd go outside, do his business, and come straight back in. He seems to be so much happier with someone to chase him now! When I saw him run around the back yard like he'd lapped up some gasoline or something, trying to get her to chase him, I knew I made the right decision! Really has brought more life to him at home now! I'd only seen him this happy down at my sisters playing with her dogs. Now he has a playmate at home! |

We rescued Gage from a suspected abusive home - it was either we keep him and love him or find him a loving home - we kept him. We had no plans to get a second one although I had begun talking about wanting one - God placed me in a situation where I heard about Gage and He opened the door to make getting him a reality! I've never regretted giving him a loving home and hubby hasn't either. |
You can NEVER have just one! Sadie is my first Yorkie...I absolutely fell in love with the breed once I had her...I told my husband that she needed a playmate...that's my story and I'm sticking with it! LOL |

We got our second Marilynn for many reasons. Some being: A 22lb "Mad at the World" Siamese and a 5lb Yorkie don't "play" the same way. We wanted to balance out our family with a little girl. I wanted a baby girl to dress up in pink with bows and ribbons. Melvin needed a playmate. We originally wanted a girl. She just fell into our laps. But the main number one reason? Shane got tired of hearing me bitch! Works everytime! And we couldn't be happier with her, she is a perfect little girl. At first, I was a little scared, it's a big step for the whole family, but now I couldn't imagine it without her! Everyone, but the stupid cat loves her to death. However, the cat only loves two things, Shane and her food! So it really wasn't a suprise there! |
I'm convinced Ok, Yters, you've convinced me that I need a second!! Now I have another question - how old was your first yorkie when you brought the 2nd one home? Howie is 6 months.. do you think that's too young?? |

Seconds Please :) My sister and I are roommate and decided that we needed a little one to keep us company!! After a few weeks we decided she needed a friend to keep her company. Unbeknown to my roommate I looked up breeders and a few more weeks I snuck my Kylie in. ;) They love each other and now I can't imagine not having two. One day I will add to my furfamily but for now at 10 months and 11 months this is all I can handle :) |
Well, I've always wanted a live baby doll to dress up. When we got Winston, he lets me put shirt/sweaters and stuff on him but won't let me put a topknot on him. My husband wanted his own puppy. Winston really need a playmate. And all the folks here at YT thought it was a lovely idea. (it is!!!) Life is so much fun with 2 furbabies. |

we got a second 3 weeks ago. It was a playmate for snickers, since he loves other dogs on the street. I also wanted a little girl. It took about two weeks for snickers to play with the new little girl. Its better now. |
Two reasons, one for me, one for Eddie: I would be devastated if I ever lost him. I wanted to have a second to help me get through the grief should that ever happen. What tipped the scale was when our live-in dogsitter moved out (a good thing). I wanted Eddie to have company for the 5 hours he's alone most days. So really, Jack is Eddie's dog. |
