Exterminators My mom was debating whether or not to get an exterminator for the house since there was a HUGE spider today and a couple weeks ago I saw some bug in the kitchen  If she hires an exterminator to come and spray the house, will the stuff they spray hurt/harm Diamond? I didn't know if it was bad if Yorkies try to lick it or something or how I can keep her from it. Do any of you have exterminators? |
ask the exterminator when he comes if its harmful to pets before he sprays anything I wouldn't take a chance and if he doesn't sound sure of himself then I wouldn't let him do it. |
I am deathly afraid of bugs so I have an exterminator that comes once a month. My exterminator just tells me not to let Hobbs and Hootie on the floor until 30 minutes after he sprays. The solution needs to dry before the dogs get on the floor so they won't get it on them. Otherwise, the exterminator told me it was completely safe.   |
The exterminator company should be able to tell you if it will be harmful to your dog(s). One that my boyfriend's parents use is TERMINIX - we also used them at my former job before I moved which was at one of the largest corporations in the US. They must be doing something right! ;) Plus, with them, if you see any bugs withing a few days after they spray, they'll come back and re-spray for free. But it's something I believe you're supposed to have done once a month (that goes for all of the companies) |

That's such a good deal - I was impressed when I learned they'd respary for free like that. I might have to look into the every 3 months deal - I thought you had to pay for them to come every month which gets expensive. Every 3 months though... hmmm... I'm gonna call tonight! |

i worry about pestiside residue. it must be toxic. i'm having a spider problem myself. i going to look for something natural. diamond is so small. a little bit could do major harm to her. |
In Florida you HAVE to have pest control. My exterminator uses something that he says is perfectly safe for small dogs and he used to have yorkies so I trust him to understand small dogs. I still keep them outside while he's spraying and for about 1/2 hour after he leaves just to be safe. |
I have Orkin come once every 2 months. We live near woods and have LOTS of wood spiders and other creepy crawlys. He has been coming for about 4 years now and I have always had a dog, he says it doesn't harm your pets. I have had no problems of them getting sick or anything. He sprays the outside of my house all around it really really good and you can see the liquid after he does it, so just to be safe I let it dry an hour or so before I let the dogs outside. I have the inside done too, it just doesn't require as much since the outside has a boundary nothing wants to come in. Having an exterminator has eliminated all of the bugs, thank goodness, I hate spiders especially. I would recommend one, just be sure and ask if their paticular mix would bother your dogs, different companys may use different mixes. They also will come and spray for free if you see anything in between teatments(they came and sprayed for bees at my front door in between once). |
Me too is very afraid of bugs. They create a mess in my home. Exterminators does the best job by spraying on them. |
I think professional exterminators would be the best option to get rid of spiders and other pest in the home. |
If you have a detached home, spraying indoors is not necessary. Spraying around the foundation is sufficient, except for a flea infestation. |
Owww geezzz Spider? That is my biggest rival at home. |
You should tell the exterminator that you have a dog at your home, will that harm your dog and also ask them that are they using poisonous chemicals or not. |
