Emma's Ears Hi - When we got our little yorkie, Emma, her ears were completely flopped over. After about a month or so they became fully perked up. Now ... in the past few weeks they have started to flop again. First her left one flopped and are now both are totally down. Does anyone know why this is?? She is now 4 months old. Is this normal? |

She could be teething, the ears sometimes go down when they're teething. Or, maybe she needs the hair around her ears trimmed. |
Not shaving them, but she is teething No we haven't shaved them (we did hear that this would help the ears perk up). Yes you could say she is teething!! She is about 4 months old. Does teething cause the ears to go back down? |
Rosi's Ears didn stant till i had them shaved, teething does it also sometimes ! |
I have no clue here since Sissy's were never down, but your baby is really cute!! |
My Tooties ears are floppy and Hopes are perky.... I have the best of both worlds... Hope is 6 months old and I am letting her hair grow long and they are strong, I think it is just how it is meant to be.... d |
Mine is 8 months and still goes floppy eared on his right ear if he's really worn out / tired . Teething really takes it out of our little babes, so that would be my first guess. If its really a concern, trim down the hair on the ears to reduce the weight and if that doesn't help, do a search on Yorkie talk about taping your pups ears. But, honestly, unless your planning on showing/breeding ... it doesn't really matter what your pups ears look like. |
