And my week gets worse! Ok, bad luck just keeps coming! Wednesday morning Riley (6months old today & 3lbs) falls off the sofa & "pops off her kneecap" Luxating Patella $$$$$. She had surgery that same afternoon. She did great. I picked her up yesterday & we're adjusting to life with little to no movement for at least 4 wks. I hold Riley in my lap or she lays in her crate. Thought we'd had our share of bad luck but....this afternoon when I ran my errands I noticed a black cloud of smoke. As I'm driving to my husband's place of employement (Body & Fender Shop), I relize that it's on fire. There are firetrucks & people everywhere. My heart stopped when he didn't answer his cell phone to my numerous calls. I parked as close as I could & was ready to run over when he called. Everyone got out ok! They got all the vehicles out. But it looks like he lost all his tools. I'm ready for this week to end!!!!!! |
Omg POOR YOU, what a rubbish week you have had, glad your baby and hubby are safe and well, it could have been worse. I hope you have a better week this coming one  |
What a bad week! I hope next week is much better. |
Oh dear Lord! I am so sorry for your week. I am so grateful that they made it out. I am so sorry for your baby too. God bless |
I am sorry you have had a bad week. Hopefully next week is better for you |
Oh my Gosh that is horrible hope you and your family are going to have a better week. I am greatful you are all ok. My husband just found out his father has cancer and has 2 months. |
Thanks to everyone for your good thoughts. Yes. things could be worse. They finally got the fire out. But no one will allowed in until at least tomorrow. So we don't know the extent of damage. The other two buildings involved are destroyed. Yorkiesforever I'm so sorry about your terrible news. Cancer is an awful thing. I lost my mother Feb. 2004 to colon cancer. She fought it for almost 2 years. It was the worst thing I've ever experienced. Such major lows. I'll pray for your family. |
That is so sad. Does his place of employment carry insurance on the contents? Or would your homeowner's policy cover his tools? I'm really sorry. I know it's true that when it rains, it pours!:( |
Today's another day It seems the building is insured but the Body & Fender man's personal tools are not! And we're talking many thousands of dollars worth of tools. He's been a Body & Fender man for over 30 years. He's really great at his job & can get a job anywhere. BUT...you can't be a Body & Fender man without tools. So we just have to wait & see. I've been wide awake since 5am. I've got too much on my mind. On a better note...Riley seems to be doing well since her operation. I bought her a new plastic carrier. It's the same XS size as the old one but this one has wire door at the top as well as in the front. I can lower her into the carrier without hurting her leg. And I'm able to see her through the wire too. I also bought a canvas foldable carrier for upstairs (since she's not allowed to run around). |
I am so sorry! That is horible! I hope your week gets better, me and chloe are sending hugs  |
Awwww I'm sorry about your week :( I'm glad Riley is OK and that your husband made it out of the fire. Sending positive thoughts your way...... |
