My Yorkie runs around the house like a mad dog for 2-3 minutes... I have a Yorkie puppy of 3 months and every day for about 2-3 minutes she starts running around the house in big circles through the furniture like a mad and crazy dog. It is kind of cute but I was wondering if that means anything or if anyone has experienced this as well. Thanks! Kathrin |
welcome to the world of dogs.I did a chuckle to myself when I read this thread cause my yorkie, jack russell and bichon do it every night without fail my family gets a real laugh out of it especially if we have visitors. They run around the furniture doing the figure 8 but sometimes we have to call time out as they go so fast we are scared prudence might hurt herself. |
Oh my Gosh! That is exactly what Chloe is doing! I have to laugh real hard when she does it but sometimes I get scared because I feel like she will run into the coffee table. :) I thought my dog was crazy. It is good to know that your dogs are doing the same thing. :) |
Sounds like normal healthy dog behavior. It's hilarious to watch them. My son-in-law calls it the "zooms". |
That is soooo yorkie!!!!! Mine do it as well... its crazy!!! but you know they are well & happy. Thats the best part! :) |
Mine do that and they run like crazy and fly under the bed and I'm so afraod they are going to smash theie head into the metal bedframe. They usuallly do it when they are younger and at bedtime. |
Chachi does the running in circles when he gets going also |
Minnie does that growling the whole time looks like she is having fun to me. |

My pup does it too... Hubby laughs he's loony but he just has a few super hyper minutes before bedtime. He runs from kitchen to bedroom and back, so fast his ears are flying back. Usually throws around his almost-done flossie and growls at the same time... Riot to watch :D |
My pup does it too its like she has to let out that little burst of energy its really cute lol. |
Maddie does that too...runs behind the loveseat to the other side, heads down the hallway and into one of the bedrooms and then finds her way back to behind the loveseat and on and on. I laugh each and every time she does that....love it! |
Brutus does this too and it cracks me up!:p |
Shylah and Brynna do it too...you can hear them laughing the whole time. Their ears pinned back, their tails wagging...and great big smiles on their faces. They play tag run into the family room, jump onto the couch bounce off the couch...around the chairs, under the table, and then over the armrest of one of the chairs, flying into the kitchen...run around the kitchen table and then back into the family room__ it all starts over again...all within seconds. So fast. Crazy but very happy little doggies. :D Then, just as quickly as it started it stops...I swear you can see the halo around their heads... ~Marly |
Welcome to the world of Yorkies . |
Time to POOP! quote=Kat1102]I have a Yorkie puppy of 3 months and every day for about 2-3 minutes she starts running around the house in big circles through the furniture like a mad and crazy dog. It is kind of cute but I was wondering if that means anything or if anyone has experienced this as well. Thanks! Kathrin[/quote] Chewy does this too... it's when he has to poop! When ever he runs like that he is telling us Its coming and i can't stop it so get me OUT! He poos every single time!!!! |
Topher does this too...ever since he was a puppy around an hour or so before bed it seems he gets a 'second wind' and runs through the house like mad...over and under. For the longest time he used to slide on the floor, unable to stop and run right smack into the side of my filing cabinet..every single time...lol! And what a noise it would make CLANG!!! He didn't hurt himself (amazingly so). He'd stop...give his head a shake...and keep right on running!! :) My son even piled pillows up against it a couple of times...just like the advertisement on tv...trying to save poor Topher from impact! lol He's older and wiser now so avoids that area...hehe. ...and yes, it's almost like you can hear him laughing as he runs....not a care in the world of a happy yorkie puppy! |
run around like a crazy man!!!lol I have a male Yorkie, Frodo, he is 21/2 and after every bath he first drys himself off on a towel sliding back and forth and then becomes the mad dog,we laugh, heruns through my kitchen into the living room back through the kitchen and into our den and does this for a while and we cannot stop laughing, he is sooo funny....enjoy them when they do this they are so funny... |
Isn't it a hoot!!! Duke 2 1/2 yrs. has been doing the Road Runner around our house since he was a baby! It's usually after he's eaten meat........ and there he goes, racing through the living room to the front porch, back through the living room, bouncing on the couch, jumps off, down the hall, into every bedroom, back down the hall into the kitchen and back for at least 4 laps!!! We now have another yorkie, Scout, 3 1/2 mos. First time Duke did his race, Scout would whine and cry. He thought Duke was crazy. Needless to say, he is following by example now. They both will even do it on command...........All I have to say is RUN FORRRRRESSSST RUN! and there they go! They sleep like babies at night! |
Mine does it too. Mostly when she is wet. She also does it when me and my sister are home at the same time. It's the ways she shows us she is excited. I take her to our neighbors when we are gone all day and she does it when she sees him to. I think he spoils her, so she gets real excited when she sees him. I love it. |
I've really enjoyed reading this thread! I love to see them run and be happy!:D |
Tooties nightly ritual!!!!! Everynight he tries to get all the pups to BUZZ around.... He and my Lab RACE up and down the hall around everything possible... Hope tried to join in the other night but got smart and ran back.. LOL They are SO FUN and such a joy to me, all of my fur babies. d |
