Advice about neutering, please!!! I already schedule an appointment for neutering Bengi in a month. He's going to be 6 months then. I read some info about it, so I felt it was the right thing to do. Then some family member starting to say: "Oh no, poor dog" "What is he's never the same" "What if he gets sick" "He's not going to be a male anymore!"... all stuff like that  . So, I got a little scared  . Please share your experience with me, I want to know what you guys think about it and in case your little one got neutered, if everything went fine. Thank you everybody for your time. Yorkie Talk rocks!!!! :animal36  |
when my s**tzu got neutered he was perfectly fine and didn't change a bit :) |
Neutering a male makes him a better pet. If you get it done right away then maybe he wont mark in your house. Neutering didnt change Chachis personality at all |
People saying that sort of thing are not knowledgeable about dogs. I hope you ignore them. I have had many neutered male dogs and they are the 'same dog' after the operation. They make better pets, too, as another poster pointed out. Neutering is the responsible action. Good luck! |
Neutering is mcuh easier than spaying. The incision is so much smaller than that done on the poor bitches. They are in pain the first day but after they are just fine. You will have the same dog with chances that he will live longer and healthier life. |
If he is not going to be used as a stud then it is the right thing to do. You will have a better pet for it and make a healthier life for him. It is known to help prevent testicular cancer. |
I agree that it is better for them. It did not change Tiger's personality at all! He's still just as sweet. |

My little guy got neutered last week - he came home, kissed his best friend (my other dog), drank a ton of water, and ate like there was no tomorrow - and then slept the day away. The next day he was totally back to normal - I was just careful when I picked him up or handled him for a few days. I don't notice any difference in him at all. He's still his happy-go-lucky, friendly, playful little self. You don't have to do much research or listen to very many people to find out that neutering and spaying our pets is the responsible thing for us pet owners to do. So, keep your appointment - get it done - and don't worry. Carol Jean |
Do it you will be soooo glad you did. It DOES make a better dog....especially a male. |
Stump was neutered at 7 months and let me tell you... he is still a boy! He humps on a daily basis. It hasn't stopped him from being a "Man" haha. As for his personality. I don't think it changed him whatsoever. |
