Kinda cute..... I have a one-year-old Yorkie and a five-year-old Bichon. We've mentioned dogs and their toys before - and things they might bring with them when you first get them. When I got Louie (my Bichon) five years ago - he came to me on an airplane (10-weeks old) and brought a little white dog-toy stuffed bear with him. He still has his bear and it is in great shape (I wash it in the washing machine every few months). He rarely plays with it - but never sleeps without it. He closes his teeth over a part of it and sleeps with it holding it in his mouth. This evening for some reason, Murphy (my Yorkie) decided that he was going to sleep with Louie's bear....and he did fall asleep lying across it on the floor. Louie never did a thing. He just went over and sat by Murphy and the bear. He sat there patiently watching them for more than an hour - until Murphy finally rolled over away from the bear. Then, of course, Louie quickly got it -and went across the room and jumped onto his favorite chair with it and went to sleep almost immediately holding it in his mouth. **** I just watched tonight to see what would happen. .... but from now on - I am going to make sure that Louie gets his bear. After all, he has had and loved it since he was born and has almost never slept without it. He shares everything in the world and doesn't have a mean bone in his body - but I don't think he needs to share his bear. Plus - he has taken such good care of it for so many years - I hate to see Murphy start "dragging it around." Murphy has a lot of toys.....ten times more than Louie. Dogs can be so sweet - right? Aw that is a sweet story. My Chachi has a favorite toy and it is a bear too. |
How sweet! My poodle has a blanky that is practically falling apart but I refuse to throw it out because she doesn't sleep without it. I recently bought her a cute one and doesn't care for it.............I'll keep washing it until it falls apart completely then.......lol |

AWWWW how sweet....he loves his little bear |
Louie sounds like a little sweetheart with a great disposition. It's wonderful to see that with our dogs. Sometimes I feel bad for Baxter because he doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and Snickers can be a little selfish with his toys sometimes. But they seem to work it out on their own. Very sweet story!:aimeeyork |
