Any suggestions on what I can do I just got my little girl Mia and my little boy Murphy back from the vet. Mia had to be spayed and have baby teeth pulled and Murphy had to just have baby teeth pulled - he was already neutered. They are just passed out on the sofa right now with hubby and me but I am just wondering if there is any thing else I can do to make their recovery any better? I boiled some chicken for tonight so they could possibly eat that since I am sure their teeth will be too sore for hard kibble - do you think that is smart? If not I also have some of those baby beef sticks I used to give Murphy when he was itty bitty. What do yo guys think - I just hate seeing them lay there so lifeless. I am used to my two little trouble makers running all over the place. BTW Murphy is 9 months old and Mia is 8 months old. |
I would stick with reallllly soft stuff like cottage cheese, rice with very finely shredded broiled chicken. Personally I wouldn't recommend any chews of any kind, just because it will hurt them and they will be too temped to go to town with it. Poor babies. Kisses to them. Very smart of you to do it together  Hope Mia and Murphy feel better soon. |
Ahhhhhh, I would just let them rest. They will tell you when they are ready to be little demons again. LOL:D Enjoy the peace and quiet because it won't last long. I am wishing them both a speedy recovery. Keep us posted. Chicken sounds great, good thinking, adding alittle rice would be good as well. Easy on the gums. |
don't worry too much . . .they will both be back to their usual self in no time . . . . just give them lots of TLC. |
I gave all of mine wet dog food after havng teeth pulled and all three did great. Those beef sticks are so soft I bet they would work perfect! Enjoy the peace- they'll be back to normal in no time! Feel better soon little Mia and Murphy! |
They're probably just sleeping off the anesthetic, so I'd just let them rest. I'm sure tomorrow they will be more back to themselves. But, I wouldn't let them go too long without eating. I think cottage cheese would be good since it's really soft. I hope they're feeling better in no time! |
It's good they're resting. How many teeth did they have pulled out? If it was only a few, they probably don't need any special treatment but I guess it will make YOU feel better. |
Its a good thing that they are resting, and don't worry by this weekend they will be running everywhere again...:) |
I'm going through the same thing right now...Lady got spayed today also....I brought her home about 430 and shes been quiet since shes been home not even a peep...but I;m letting her rest quietly in her crate ...I just gave her a little water and some food at she took it all....I know exactly what your going through...its been rough day....its weird to see her so quiet, usually shes running wild |

The best thing for them right now is rest. Sleep is a good pain killer. Your little girl will probbaly be sore and tired for a couple of days from the spay. |
