Stressed? My husband has been transfered for one month, and so we "get" to live in a hotel. Poor Keeley has had diarrhea today. Today has been pretty stressful for him. The maids came, we ran LOTS of errands so he was in his bag and in the car for a looong time, then there was LOTS of LOUD construction noises outside when he was here alone (in his cage). I have noticed him shaking really bad a few times today (:( Breaks my heart!). It is a big adjustment to our mellow apartment and routine we had... Could the loose stools be cause by stress? I notice mucus in the stools, is that normal for stress related diarrhea? (I know if it continues for 24-48 hours I need to find a vet and take him). Thanks in advance, I am so in debted to all the yorkietalkers who have helped me so many times. |
Poor Keeley! Is he drinking water? I know that when I disrupt Hallie's schedule (when we moved, road trips, etc.) she will get diarhhea too and I always thought it was from stress. I usually feed her white rice and chicken when she's sick to her tummy :( I hope he is feeling better soon. Kisses~ |
I would guess it is stress related. Poor baby. Can't be easy for you either. You could try a little pepto Bismol and the diet like SimonandHallie suggested. Good luck. |
poor baby is just probably not used to all these temporary changes. :( i say to go with the above and maybe try taking him on a peaceful walk or to a dog park to make him happy. |
White rice and chicken? Do you just boil the chicken? |
Boiling is the best way but I just bake it. |
awwwwwww I'm sure it's hard for the little guy. You might think about Pedialyte if he's not drinking enough. Don't want him to get dehyrated. |
