What would you do? I am still trying to get the hang of this forum stuff. I don't want the two yorkies not to have babies, I am just worried about her having babies. I mean that I wouldn't mind having another one and am sure that I could give my nieghbors one and my mom one(not sale them). Should I just go ahead and neuter the male and leave her alone and not worry about pregnancy? |
Not sure what is best. I personally would have her spayed and keep him intact then. I am probably no help, but want to wish you lots of luck! |
Thank you!!!!!! I know I have about 7 months to decide:confused: |
I think it is most important that all our pets be spayed & neutered. :) |
Welcome to YT. I wish you the best :D |
I am a spay and neuter proponent. Are you really willing to risk losing her during her giving birth or afterward due to complications or to risk either of them having cancer later in life? I wouldn't take the risk. I love mine too much, if that is possible. |
Imo... I would leave breeding to the professionals - there's much more to it then just letting your two dogs mate and getting some cute little puppies out of it. I can appreciate anyone loving their dogs so much that they want another one just like them, but in this case, I'd have BOTH of your dogs fixed - a female's chance of getting mamary cancer increases 50% after their first heat and unneutered males can end up with cancer as well - especially if they have undescended testicles. |
I think I will just have them both fixed. You guys have helped out alot. I am still not sure whether or not I am going to but this one yet. But I probably will. Can't resist those cute little faces!!!! |
This is what I had in mind when I asked you if you were willing to risk losing her. I just couldn't take it. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27086 |
neuter the male spay the female then no worries people always say they want puppies but when there are puppies they can't always take them |
