Update On Daisy Some of you may remember the story about Daisy, a cute little Yorkie girl who was in need of a new home. Here's a link to that thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50715 Well I am happy to report that Daisy is now safely with her new mommy, Nicole!! But this poor baby has some serious issues!! :( :( Daisy is terrified of the broom (she probably got hit with it ) and she cowers when you raise your hands to pet her -- she must have been hit. She is also scared to death of any dark or confined spaces -- but I found out from Nicole that Linda use to lock her in the closet or bathroom in the DARK when she did something bad ... what a bit*h!!! So that explains why Daisy is afraid of corners and crates. The poor little girl is so fearful ... Nicole said she's afraid of loud noises and sometimes, when Nicole comes over to pet her, she will pee on herself from fear. :( So what Nicole has been doing is crawling on the floor over to her so that her height doesn't scare her and it seems to be helping the situation. She also has food aggression and she does not know how to walk on a leash -- I bet she was never walked outside in her life!! Well Nicole has already fixed that -- she has been bringing her to the park almost every day after work!! She said it's amazing to see Daisy walk on grass ... she looks at it like it's an alien -- she doesn't even know what it is!! And she doesn't know HOW to play with toys!! It's like she never had any and now that she does, she doesn't know what to do with them!! On the health side, she has very bad teeth. She had a blood panel and everything came back ok (for now). Nicole is going to wait a bit longer for this baby to get settled in her home and then she is going to have her spayed and have a lot of her teeth removed -- poor baby. :( I will continue to keep you guys updated on this little angel -- please keep her in your prayers. She's so timid and fearful. I can't imagine what she went endured so far in her short life. :( |
Grrrrrrr.....!!!!! OMG this just makes me SICK. I am so glad that she is in a better home where she will be loved and very well cared for, but my God...what kind of person could be so mean and cruel to such a precious little animal? I just don't freaking understand it! It p*sses me off to no end!   God Bless that sweet little angel. I really hope and Pray that she comes around to trusting people again :( I'm sure with time, and a little patience, she will do just fine :) |
Thank you so much for the update. I was curious if you ever got her away from Linda and her little brats. It is so sad to hear how she has been treated. I also rescued a chihuahua and she is still scared to death of brooms and the fly swatter. She would also tense up everytime you picked her up like she had been dropped or thrown. I have had her for 3 years now and she is the sweetest dog. So laid back and loving. She now thinks she is a little princess and is spoiled wrotten. I really hope that Daisy is able to settle in with her new mommy and get the love and attention she deserves. |
Well, I am ecstatic that she has a new, kinder home. I am saddened, though, by the amount of abuse that she must have incurred at her previous home. Gosh! Kacee gets on the broom to go for rides sometimes!:D And she likes dark places like under the bed to sleep.:) So, it's apparent that she was terribly abused. That is unforgiveable.:( They say that some kennel dogs learn how to play with toys if they're young enough, but I'm betting it'll take a little time for her. She has to learn to trust again. Bless her heart. That's all soooo sad. |
I'm so glad to read that Daisy is in her new forever home with Nicole:) I applaud you both for doing what you could to get her out of the home situation she was in. I knew things were bad when you first told of her story here but never in my life could I have imagined the extent of the abuse! My heart just breaks for her but it is also filled with joy that she is now in a home where she is "Queen of the castle" and will be lavished with the love and attention she truly deserves. I look forward to reading more wonderful, happy Daisy News!! |
Aw poor baby that is sad that her former owners hurt her. At least she is in a better place now |
I can even imagine what happened to this baby to make her so AFRAID. That's the word Nicole keeps using to describe her behavior ... she is simply scared to death. She jumps when the phone rings or when Nicole laughs loud. She's scared of GRASS!!! This poor girl has lived her life in fear but NO MORE!!! Nicole is just wonderful for her ... she's a very kind and gentle person. I think she's the perfect owner for Daisy. Daisy needs a calm and caring family to help her recover from her past and move on. Daisy already has 2 new beds, TONS of toys (Nicole went on a Pet Edge shopping spree) and a car seat. But the poor baby doesn't know how to use her toys yet ... but she will learn! Nicole and I are going to have a play date with our dogs soon (in a few weeks) to see how Daisy is around other dogs. This little girl just needs some good old fashioned hugs and kisses!! Oh and Nicole went out and bought her Merrick hard food -- Daisy seems to like it so far. I hope that will help her teeth in the long run. |
I'm So glad the Daisy has a new Mom it sounds like she really loves her and will be the best mom ever. I just know pretty soon she'll be a playful loveing sweet heart and wont need to be scared any more. God bless you for helping Daisy out. |
i love you nicole,, thank you and you too jen my friend |

OMG, it's sickening to hear this story of that poor baby. Bless Nicole for being so great about taking her in. I hope it's not too late to undo all the damage. My girl chases the broom and thinks I'm playing with her when she barks. I hope she gets the life she deserves and grows up to be a happy girl. I know a local person from a local yorkie meet who found a yorkie in a similar situation, not sure if it was worst or better, all I know is that she came from an abused situation and she is so loving and freindly now. She'll come up to people and dogs alike and play with them. I hope this baby has as happy an ending. Keep us posted about Daisy. |
I am glad she found someone who will give her the love and attention she deserves. |
I am so happy to hear Daisy found a home...She will be very loved I'm sure! XoXoXo To Daisy and Nicole and OF COURSE you Jenn!! Fran and Sophia |
Bless you for finding Daisy a loving forever home. We rescued an abused farm dog when I was young. She ran away from out neighbors and came to us, so we kept her. They didn't care. It took time, but she turned out to be such a sweet little girl. All she wanted was to be loved. Give Daisy some time to adjust and she should learn to trust her new family. All that love will help her heal. Poor baby. I don't understand how anyone can mistreat an innocent animal. |
I hope Linda doesn't have any more animals! God bless you for taking this baby in, and getting her away from Linda, and finding it a good home with lots of love! |
