What is the Right way to use belly band? I got belly bands in the mail yesterday ... What is the way to use them to help in housebraking? Are they fairly effective? I remember reading somewhere you can either us them with a pad inside or without it... It's for the time I'm at work, there are hardwood floors and he can't run around freely and he doesn't seem to notice pee pads... weirdbecause he didn't have an accident at home for a while now... If I don't use the pad and he won't want to wet the band, will he hold until the band is off?? I don't want to crate him all the time but can't really tend to him more often than every 1 - 2 hours... Any advice? :) |
I would like to know this also. I have some on the way. |
Belly bands dont help house break. Alot of breeders keep these on their unneutered males so when they do lift their legs and pee they pee on the pad in the band and not where they intended too. I have a few grooming clients whose male dogs wear these because they have problems with leakage due to medical problems Maybe there is a way to house break with belly bands that im not aware of, if there is Im curious to learn so I can help someone when the question arises again |
My two males have actually been house trained with the bellybands. At first they would pee in them, but once they did that a few times they realized that they really hated it and hated being wet. So now anytime a bellyband is on them they will hold it. I think it depends on the dog on whether or not they can be trained this way. But for my two males it has worked and I love that they learned this, it makes it so easy when taking them over to someone else's house. So yes, I do believe it can help housetrain them, it has worked for mine and several others that I know. |
put a maxi on the bottom of it fold it where the velcro meets thats the top and velcro it on them with the maxi under their belly at the end of their manhood if they pee pee it will soak it up. my male wears it when he's inside it's helping him learn not to potty inside. |
