Puppy coat? Hello, not sure if this is the right place for this question but I will ask anyway:) Gus is almost 10 weeks and he has a very short, thick coat on his back. His head, legs and belly have long silky hair and he seems to growing longer, wispy hair over the short coat. Is this normal? I thought yorkies had only a single coat. He is registered and I saw his mother and father and they both had very nice, long hair. Will his grow in? I am a little concerned b/c he doesn't look like the typical, fluff ball yorkie pup. Not that it *really* matters, I would love him if he went bald! Just wondering, Thank you. |

Pepper looks like a fluff ball. He had a lot of hair when I got him but in the past weeks it grew out of control... He mats so badly I can't keep up combing them out. He's scheduled to the groomer's next week and probably will end up with a pretty close cut (buzz cut ? ) but I just want to save him the daily ritual of more than 1 hour combing and dematting... |
I just took my 4 month old to the goomer to have her puppy hair cut, it was about 3 inches long she cut half off and she is so cute now.:D |
Reece is 10 weeks old also and has the exact same coat as you have described...I guess it must be normal! I was kinda wondering the same thing. Thanks for posting.. Dawn |
