looking for vet. in alabama
 
Good morning all, my little coco and I have just moved from Va. to St. Clair Co. Al, and we are looking for a vet. She is 1 year and 1 month old. We are totally new to this area and finding her a new doctor is our number one priority. So if any of you are familiar with this part of the world I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you all so much in advance, this website has helped me and coco so much. There is always so much great advice and cute, cute, cute stories.

What city are you living in? I am in Huntsville and have a wonderful vet. But, I'm not sure how far away you are. Let me know.

Hi, and thanks for the quick response. We are in a little town called Ragland, I believe we are south of Huntsville. Not sure how faraway, I will have to check.

I'm down in Mobile, about 6 hours away, so I know I'm no help. I'd never even heard of St Claire county.

Looks though like you have found someone a lot closer. Good luck.

I just mapquested it and Ragland is about 2 hours away from Huntsville. I would recommend you doing what I did. I got on whitepages.com and looked up ALL the vets in my area. Then I called all of them to see if any of them specialize in small breed dogs or yorkies. None of them did, so I picked the ones out that sounded very friendly on the phone and I went and visited all of them, which wasn't that many because most of them were rude. Then I just picked the one I felt most comfortable with. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: Go with your instincts...they are usually right on the money. ;)

Thanks, I will do that, that is a great idea. I appreciate all the responses, and now I am off to start calling some vets. Thanks again, I always look forward to coming to this website. I will let ya all know when we find a good vet. :animal36

Hi and welcome!! We have a home in Anniston, AL but are rarely there. Our vet there is in Ashland and, according to MapQuest, it appears to be almost 60 miles from you. It's about a 45 minute drive from our home to our vet's office. She specializes in the small breed and Yorkies are her specialty. She also breeds and shows them! :cool: She is a wonderful, knowledgeable vet and I trust her completely! She is just a "country vet" and very caring and compassionate. If that's not too far for you, just let me know and I will give you Dr. Lucy's phone number, etc. Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy Alabama and YorkieTalk!!! ;)
