She looks so scared 1 Attachment(s) :( she just looks so scared and jumpy..every little noise..but she listens well and minds nicely..SHe is just staying next to me on a blanket. I hold her for a bit and she puts her head on my shoulder and goes to sleep, and then wakes up after a bit and wants down. The other two dogs are sleeping together at the opposite end of the room..I feel sorry for her..never had more then 1 pup at time besides with these two..will they welcome her? does it take a while? Sorry for the silly questions..but I am a newbie remember:embarasse |
It's a new environment for her. Poor baby...she is just feeling out her new home. I'm sure in the next couple of days she'll see how lucky she is to have such a great Mommy like you and such a great big brother like Greenlee!!! :D It took Luca a good 3 months to finally get use to Adrianna. Now, they're friends! Good luck!! |
She is a very pretty girl. |
They will all adjust it just takes a little time. |
My BUD, 10yrs ,excepted Sissy really well, but Daisy it has taken time we got the pups about 5 months aprt. today Bud is doing better with both. so there is hope. hang in there. |
It just takes time, patience, observation, and quite a bit of supervision to make sure everyone gets their share and learns how to play nice. In time they will all learn their place and I am sure she will come around. She just might be more laid back than the others, which is not a bad thing! Just give them all time and everyone will adjust. |
I'm sure she'll adjust just fine. She's just getting used to her new environment. Good luck with everything!! |
Give her a little time, she should be fine. :) At least she has her mommy holding her. :) |
I think that sometimes when you have more than two pets - two of them will bond the most closely. There is nothing wrong with this, and it doesn't mean that they can't all get along very well. Interestingly, I had two dogs and two cats -- and when I brought my second puppy home - it was one of the cats that he immediately bonded most closely to. They were fast friends and played constantly - inside and out. But he and my other dog still got along very well. In fact, after his cat friend passed away, he became much closer to the other dog and they began playing together all the time. Theeeeeeeeeen - he lost his second best friend - and now he has bonded very closely to the little Yorkie pup that I brought home a year ago. They drive me crazy playing - what fun they have! I think the important thing in a house with several pets is that they tolerate one another, are friendly, and get along well. They will work out their own relationships , we can't force these relationships. And, we should respect and enjoy the relationships that they do form. You new little puppy may well choose "you" to be it's closest friend. And, you certainly can always encourage the entire group (including yourself) to get out and romp and play together. My rule has always been, "If you're going to live here - you have to get along with everyone." Any behavior other than this has always been quickly and consistently discouraged. And - the end result is that everyone here gets along just fine....some are closer friends than others -but that's okay too! ***** And, "yes" --- it has always taken a while (but not long) for my pets to form the relationships that they do have with one another. Good luck! Carol Jean |
