Okay Another Question.. For those of you with 3!! What is a better combination...2 boys and a girl..or 2 girls and a boy??? |
Well i have two but i am going to get a third and it will be a girl so i will have two girls and a boy. I worry about two males together |
i have 2 of each. I have no preference. I love them all and they do fine together. a little tiff now and again but they are working on that. oddly it is male against female here. |
I have a male and 3 females. There are no problems here!! :) |
We now have 2 males, and plan on getting a female in the next six months. My two males do fight over toys and sometimes it gets nasty. But most of the time they are best buddies. I'm hoping to get a female who is a little lady - would make a nice change! :aimeeyork |
When i only had 3, i had 1 male 2 females, jmo 2 males together can be quite difficult especially if they aren't neutered. :) |
It really doesn't matter at all. I have had combinations of both and have seen many fast friendships evolve - and a lots of play. I think getting along with other animals depends more on a dog's individual temperate than it does on its gender. My little male Bichon (now 5 years old) grew up with a female friend. They were inseparable. She had to be put to sleep, and there was no doubt he missed her. Two months or so later, I brought home a little male Yorkie pup, and they have become wonderful friends. They play constantly - indoors and out. I can truthfully say that having a male and female or two of either sex has never made a bit of difference at my house. Good luck! Carol Jean |

I too would worry about 2 males together, but then again it might not be an issue. Good luck |
I have 2 girls & 1 boy. Poor Max is ruled by the girls and he is so meek & easy to surrender to them always in everything! He was 2nd in the house but definately not the boss around here! I don't think gender matters much because their personalities are as different as peoples are and you never know what they will turn out as because they are so different as puppies as they are when they turn into adults. I've found that there are no rules that are accurate from thier size or parents or anything. You just have to take a chance and hope for the best. |
4 here I have 4 neutered males, no problems, |
The more i'm thinking about it..the more i'm leaning towards getting a girl... i really wanted another boy! But i think it would be wiser to get a girl... thanks for all the opinions! |
Same here 2 girls 1 boy. Congrats on whichever sex you choose. |
I have 2 boys and 1 girl and they all get along great. And both males are not neutered. They never fight and everyone gets along. I agree with Snowa, it does not matter what combination you have but rather the personalities and dispositions of all three dogs. I have seen several people with two males and they have had no problems with them. I have also seen two females not get along with each other at all. Like I said, it is the personalities/dispositions that matter. Good luck with whatever you decide!!! |
we have 2 boys and a girl. no problems here. :) |
