GOD! Those look painful! |

You know, the whole thought of "wire stitches" does sound really painful but it didn't bother Tatum at all and I thought the concept was wonderful! She "investigated" the incision but never bothered it after that. |
When I had a c-section, I had disolving stitches on the inside and glass strapping tape on the outside. Absolutely no scar! This is a very reputable vet and so affordable! Everything including the sleepover was only $222.00. The first vet I had charges way more than that just for the spay alone! They were much nicer here, too. The incision doesn't look bad. There's no bruising. She just went outside and pooped - normal - and played a little soccer. No overexertion. But she is a little calmer. She is back in the cat's house sleeping. May she was still on pain killers when we first brought her home. She ate good, jumped up into her lazyboy chair and down again, danced around. She was like she always is. Now, she won't go up the stairs or even try to get on her chair. I'll bet the soreness is starting to come. I feel so bad for her. She won't even whimper. She just puts her head down. Is there anything I can give her? I saw something about aspirin, but I don't remember which thread. Or, maybe a little Benedryl, to help her sleep if she has a hard time tonite? Any suggestions?:( |
You have to be careful of what you give her. It has to be according to her wt, especially. Can you call your vet or an emerg vet? Or maybe do a search on this forum? You probably know all this anyway, but a gentle reminder might help. If you can't find anything to give her, do not guess at it and just let her sleep it off. She will be fine.;) |
I wouldn't give her anything without being certain, in fact, I don't want to give her anything. I just hate to see her hurting. Maybe a heating pad on the lowest setting? She's sleeping ok now, I just want to be prepared. I know she will be fine, it's just that these babies don't understand what's happening. Do they put a tube down their throat during surgery? If so, that may be why she isn't making any noise. Her throat may be sore. |
I would just let her sleep. I don't think the heating pad is necessary....I'm not even sure it would be beneficial. And I am pretty sure they put a tube down her throat, but that shouldn't bother her....I've had operations where they did that, and it never bothered me. Just let her sleep, and she will be back to her normal self by tomorrow, I bet. My prayers are with you. Ro |
How much did your girls weigh when spayed? just wondering. |
Roxy is 5.5 kbs abd 6 mos. old. And she is back to her old self now and the cut is healing fine, but it looks like the skin is attaching to the wires. She doesn't act like anything hurts, but I bet it will when they come out. OUCH!:( |

You mean she will always have staples in her? That sounds uncomfortable. I'll bet she could set the alarms off at the airports.;) |
Yes , it was very umcomfortable for her . She had to take medications and wasn't feeling well. Mitsou died from complications . |
I'm soooo sorry. :( I didn\'t realize you had lost your little one. How old was Mitsou? |
